High School Musical 2

I never fully watched the first. But I've noticed it's really popular with the little kids. My 6,7 nieces even joined some HSM 2 online contest here too, www.tvguide.com/hsm2 ,hoping they would win some hsm stuff.

My son (almost 5) is really looking forward to the show.

Fun fact: Disney had no idea HSM1 was going to reach beyond a small niche audience. Once it hit big, they rushed out a theater version available to schools; my local high school did a production of it in the spring. The stage version is greatly improved on the original; there's more subtlety, and more development of the secondary characters.

Also, in schools where they have done HSM, they have significantly increased the number of people auditioning for the shows. Yay for theater!

Do you work for TV Guide?

My niece--all of 7 last month--loved the first one and is counting down the days until part two.

I know the local theater club did a version of it as well, but I didn't see it.

Not that I didn't like it. Anything to break the monotony of endless hours of Hannah Montana, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, That's so Raven and back to back showings of the Parent Trap.

Hey, I must say that I am a fan, simply because a young company I'm a part of did it last fall and we toured schools/community theatres with it. I played Ryan Evans; one of the four principals.

I think it's a nice, wholesome Disney movie, though I see it as a modern version of Grease. Just saw them on the latest of cover TV Guide. It's very nice though!

Hi Redlemon, I don't work for them, just a regular subscriber.

My nieces love it. Is it bad that I think Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale are hot?

I'm sure Disney commands a tidy sum for the rights to use it, too.

My 10 year old daughter loves it, and no, it's not wrong, because VH is 20 and AT is 22. Believe me, VH is better looking in person than on TV as well. Took the daughter to see Cheetah Girls in concert, and VH was an opening act. Man she looked good.

I decided to research this, out of curiosity.

If they're poor inner-city schools that can't afford the going rate, our instructions are to bend the rate and to let them do the show.
I tried to get the $ estimates directly, but you have to submit an application and wait a few weeks for a result.

Our family can't wait to see the 2nd one, we're actually going to see High School Musical on Ice on October 30th as well.

Btw, has anyone already got a copy of the hsm 2 cd-rom from tv guide? I'd say it's a very nice collectible item, has tons of cool stuff from the 2nd movie.
