The Simpsons' Movie
I came, I saw, I laughed. It's just like any other Simpsons episode, except you get it supersized. Entertainment money well spent.

Is it like any other Simpson episode post 1998 or pre 1998? That makes a huge difference.

It was more in line with the recent episodes. It's telling that the second funniest moment in the whole experience did not come from the screen, but from a small child next to me. I won't say I was disappointed, because I didn't expect much, but it was not worth $7.50. Homer was right to call me stupid.

I liked it. It was like watching a good new episode, with the perk that it went into individual character storylines and involvement. Even if it blew, I still would have seen it. Like Transformers as a kid, I've watched the Simpsons since it was on the Tracy Ullman show, so there's no way I was missing out.

It was a solid movie, and focused mainly on the family. It's a "Homer is a dolt" storyline rather than "Bart is a smartass" etc storyline. And yeah, it's pretty much an hour and a half long show, but frankly, I thought that made it better! I laughed pretty hard through a lot of it, and (hormones aside) even got a smidgeon teary at some spots. Don't tell anyone, okay? That part is a little embarassing...

I was pleasantly surprised at how good this movie was. I hadn't been enjoying the episodes for the last few years, so I was drug along. But, I was happily proven wrong. I laughed, I cried ...

I loved the first half hour or so. Then I found it kinda dragged for a half hour but then got better at the end.
I was super disappointed that Albert Brooks is in the cast and didn't revive my favorite one-shot character of Hank Scorpio though.

This movie was real good. It was a Simpsons episode with a HUGE dose of humor and heart. Got all teary-eyed in some parts. My absolute favorite part was when Spoiler: the church folk and the bar folk switched places, I was laughing so hard. Absolute genius.

I thought it was terrible. A rehash of previous episodes sans the funny. A last gasp effort to continue what was once the best show on TV

So it's like new Simpsons, eh? I guess that means I will skip it or watch it at the dollar movies. Sad too, because The Simpsons used to be my favorite show when I was growing up.

I thought it was very funny, but i had to hold myself back from laughing alot because there were only 6 people in the showing and i have a loud laugh.
It seems to be more like an extended episode rather than a movie type script, but i still loved it.

I must say, I loved the insertion of "Cargill" as a name... though watching it in Iceland, most of the audience had no idea who that was. A few other American jokes were also lost on them, but I ate it up. Nothing like bursting out laughing when the whole theater is silent...

I really enjoyed it. Wish I hadn't seen some of the trailers because of course they were some of the funniest bits of the movie, but all in all it was a good film and I definitely wasn't disappointed.
Opinions on whether or not a sequel is going to happen? I'm assuming you all watched the credits... |

I'm a big Simpsons fan, and I enjoyed it. It didn't impress me tremendously, but it was still pretty good. A lot of attention to detail, I especially liked how the ambulance was still there from the episode when Bart was going to try to jump the gorge , don't know if anyone else noticed.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. For some reason I was laughing hysterically at Homer's dancing during the throat singing. Also, someone posted the movie on youtube yesterday. It might still be up there, but it's not good quality. They just recorded it with a video camera in the theater. Someone's head is in the view for like 20 minutes of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4aYUUxsVOw Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMwhdOGEuMU Part 2 |

ha ha, i can get you a much better copy if you really need it
i thought the movie was slightly better than the typical new episode ... not completely hilarious but good enough. i also thought they lived by the ocean in some episodes, but i guess a lot of stuff like that changes. |

I enjoyed the movie. It was funny in the beginning, slower in the middle but picked up again towards the end. I think some of the humour might have been lost on me since I haven't seen an episode in years.

i haven't watched the simpsons in a while (or any other TV) and i was surprised at how good it was. i think the "rock and hard place" bit was worth the 7.50 alone - i haven't laughed that hard at a movie in a while.

but hey, if there is a sequel, i'll watch it
