From what Pan says (I looked it up to confirm), Chris Benoit, Jeffrey Dahmer and Bobby Cutts Jr(Canton cop that killed his pregnant girlfriend last week) all have the same birthday. May 21(not the same year obviously)... freaky no?

Also Dahmer grew up on East Bath Rd..... and Jessie Marie Davis and her unborn child bodies were found on West Bath Rd. within a mile of each other.

I don't think Benoit had any Akron connections.

But how freaky is all that shit?

Oh and for you rap fans, The Notorious B.I.G. (who was from Cleveland so I'm sure he had Akron connections).... was also born on May 21st.

The article says the boy was dwarfed. That's a genuine reason to use HGH on a child. My cousin had to use this to grow to normal size because dwarfism runs in my family.

And the way he did it sounds very thought out and sadistic. (Not that there is a merciful way to kill anyone especially children).........

According the the University of Western Ontario, the side effects of steroid use include the following:
  • aggressive behaviour - "Roid Rages";
  • paranoia, edginess, impatience, mood swings, headaches, nosebleeds;
  • increased blood pressure and heart rate;
  • increase in injuries - tendon problems;
  • inhibiting natural growth (height);
  • prolonged and heavy use results in liver damage and hardening of the arteries that can result in heart attack or stroke.

This is what guys like Chris Benoit live with (if he was, in fact, a heavy steroid user). And I'm sure much of this is visited upon their families. Although most of this may have caused much of the misery the family may have suffered over the long term, it is very likely that it was "roid rage" that ended it all.

I agree that it's true, but the phrasing of the story makes the HGH sound unprescribed. And given that HGH is one of the most abused performance-enhancing drugs (it's not a steroid), it sounds fishy.

It also looks like the boy had a whole bunch of other problems:

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=2918751

and that Benoit tested negative for steroids a couple of months ago. That doesn't mean that mean that he wasn't using viral therapy or one of the more cutting edge techniques, though.

His child was the way he was. He should have loved him as he was instead of trying to make him something he wasnt. All the growth hormone in the world wouldnt change the fact that the child was mentally retarded. For that there is no cure.

Well, drugs or any other substance that alters behaviour may well play a part in this... but it doesnt absolve responsibility.

Ultimately, the drugs can only make things that already there worse in my opinion.

Lots of people take steroids and dont murder anybody.

A very interesting twist, someone supposedly changed Benoit Wikipedia entry before the authorities knew of the death. Here is the article
Quote:
ATLANTA - Investigators are looking into who altered pro wrestler Chris Benoit's Wikipedia entry to mention his wife's death hours before authorities discovered the bodies of the couple and their 7-year-old son.

Benoit's Wikipedia entry was altered early Monday to say that the wrestler had missed a match two days earlier because of his wife's death.

A Wikipedia official, Cary Bass, said Thursday that the entry was made by someone using an Internet protocol address registered in Stamford, Conn., where World Wrestling Entertainment is based.

An IP address, a unique series of numbers carried by every machine connected to the Internet, does not necessarily have to be broadcast from where it is registered. The bodies were found in Benoit's home in suburban Atlanta, and it's not known where the posting was sent from, Bass said.

Benoit strangled his wife and son during the weekend, placing Bibles next to their bodies, before hanging himself on the cable of a weight-machine in his home, authorities said. No motive was offered for the killings, which were discovered Monday.

Also Thursday, federal drug agents said they had raided the west Georgia office of a doctor who prescribed testosterone to Benoit.

The raid at Dr. Phil Astin's office in Carrollton began Wednesday night and concluded early Thursday, said agent Chuvalo Truesdell, a spokesman for the Drug Enforcement Administration. No arrests were made.

Hours before the raid, Astin told The Associated Press he had treated Benoit for low testosterone levels, which he said likely originated from previous steroid use.

Among other things, investigators were looking for Benoit's medical records to see whether he had been prescribed steroids and, if so, whether that prescription was appropriate, according to a law enforcement official speaking on condition of anonymity because records in the case remain sealed.

Astin prescribed testosterone for Benoit, a longtime friend, in the past but would not say what, if any, medications he prescribed when Benoit visited his office Friday.

State medical records show that Astin's privileges were suspended for three months in 2001 at a Georgia hospital for "reasons related to competence or character."

Astin did not return calls to his cell phone from the AP on Thursday.

Anabolic steroids were found in Benoit's home, leading officials to wonder whether the drugs played a role in the killings. Some experts believe steroids cause paranoia, depression and violent outbursts known as "roid rage."

Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard said in a statement Thursday that he could not immediately comment on the raid.

Benoit's page on Wikipedia, a reference site that allows users to add and edit information, was updated at 12:01 a.m. Monday, about 14 hours before authorities say the bodies were found. The reason he missed a match Saturday night was "stemming from the death of his wife Nancy," it said.

Reporters informed the Fayette County district attorney's office of the posting Thursday, and the agency forwarded the information to sheriff's investigators, who are looking into it, a legal assistant said in an e-mail to the AP.

WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt said that to his knowledge, no one at the WWE knew Nancy Benoit was dead before her body was found Monday afternoon. Text messages released by officials show that messages from Chris Benoit's cell phone were being sent to co-workers a few hours after the Wikipedia posting.

WWE employees are given WWE e-mail addresses, McDevitt said, though he did not know whether Chris Benoit had one.

"I have no idea who posted this," McDevitt said. "It's at least possible Chris may have sent some other text message to someone that we're unaware of. We don't know if he did. The phone is in the possession of authorities."

On Thursday afternoon, the Wikipedia page about Benoit carried a note stating that editing by unregistered or newly registered users was disabled until July 8 because of vandalism.

In other developments Thursday, Ballard told the AP that 10 empty beer cans were found in a trash can in the Benoit home. An empty wine bottle was found a few feet from where Benoit hanged himself, Ballard said.

It could take several weeks for toxicology tests to be completed on Benoit to see what substances, if any, were in his system.

Benoit took four months off from work in 2006 for undisclosed personal reasons, McDevitt said.

"He was feeling depressed, that kind of thing," McDevitt said.

In the days before the killings, Benoit and his wife argued over whether he should stay home more to take care of their mentally retarded 7-year-old son, according to an attorney for the WWE wrestling league.

The child had a rare medical condition called Fragile X Syndrome, an inherited form of mental retardation often accompanied by autism.

Chris Benoit's father, Michael Benoit, declined to comment on the slayings when reached Thursday by telephone in Alberta, Canada. Funeral arrangements were incomplete.

Ok so he changed it before he killed himself. Given the text messages and the weirdness of all this he may have thought someone would notice and come to the house.

Speculation, yes, but...... I seriously doubt anyone in the WWE would have done that, nor do I believe that the WWE knew the severity of it all.

He gets online changes the Wiki page and offs himself, I feel pretty good about my guess there. I think the authorities will come to that conclusion.

They say he died late Sunday (although early reports had him dying on Monday).

I maybe wrong, I don't know Wiki's editing procedures but I have a feeling the edits aren't immediate, they take a little while before they change. (If not wiki needs to change that fast.)

Im still trying to figure this out. I was on both his and Nancy's wiki page around 6pm monday (Dave and I were trying to remember how many kids he had and with whom) and I dont remember seeing that at all.

Besides, they are saying it was done from an IP in Stanford CT, could that be possible and him be the one to do it?

Shani - if he used an account supplied by the WWE, the IP address would have appeared registered from CT even if he were in GA at the time. If the laptop were set up at the WWE headquarters and he took it with him, it would still have the CT address regardless of where he used it.

Pan, I think you're probably right, although it's possible that you're not. I certainly hope that you are, though, since that would mean that someone out there knew about this whole thing and didn't do anything to stop it.

They record when the edit was made, though, and the edit did come before the bodies were found.

In related news, the mystery wiki editor confessed anonymously.

http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Chris_Be...coincidence%22

The apology:

Quote:
Hey everyone. I am here to talk about the wikipedia comment that was left by myself. I just want to say that it was an incredible coincidence. Last weekend, I had heard about Chris Benoit no showing Vengeance because of a family emergency, and I had heard rumors about why that was. I was reading rumors and speculation about this matter online, and one of them included that his wife may have passed away, and I did the wrong thing by posting it on wikipedia to spite there being no evidence. I posted my speculation on the situation at the time and I am deeply sorry about this, and I was just as shocked as everyone when I heard that this actually would happen in real life. It is one of those things that just turned into a huge coincidence. That night I found out that what I posted, ended up actually happening, a 1 in 10,000 chance of happening, or so I thought. I was beyond wrong for posting wrongful information, and I am sorry to everyone for this. I just want everyone to know it was stupid of me, and I will never do anything like this again. I just posted something that was at that time a piece of wrong unsourced information that is typical on wikipedia, as it is done all the time.

Nonetheless, I feel incredibly bad for all the attention this got because of the fact that what I said turned out to be the truth. Like I said it was just a major coincidence, and I will never vandalize anything on wikipedia or post wrongful information. I've learned from this experience. I just can't believe what I wrote was actually the case, I've remained stunned and saddened over it.

I wish not to reveal my identity so I can keep me and my family out of this since they have nothing to do with anything. I am not connected to WWE or Benoit at all in anyway. I am from Stamford as the IP address shows, and I am just an everyday individual who posted a wrongful remark at the time that received so much attention because it turned out to actually happen. I will say again I didn't know anything about the Benoit tragedy, it was a terrible coincidence that I never saw coming.

I hope this puts an end to this speculation that someone knew about the tragedy before it was discovered. It was just a rumor that I had heard about from other people online who were speculating what the family emergency Chris was attending to. I made a big mistake by posting this comment on his page, since all we had were what we thought was going on and nothing about what actually was going on yet, and sadly what happened turned out to be my speculation at the time. I assumed wiki would edit out my information, which they did, so thats why I didn't go back to edit it out myself.

I know I keep repeating it but I feel terrible about the mainstream coverage this has received, since it was only a huge coincidence and a terrible event that should of never happened. I am not sure how to react, as hearing about my message becoming a huge part of the Benoit slayings made me feel terrible as everyone believes that it is connected to the tragedy, but it was just an awful coincidence. That is all I have to say, I will never post anything here again unless it is pure fact, no spam nothing like that. Thank you, and let this end this chapter of the Benoit story, and hopefully one day we will find out why this tragedy ever actually happened.

Wikipedia edits are immediate and I'm not sure why "wiki needs to change that fast." It's always been the case that edits are immediate and I don't see that changing anytime soon. The IP of the source of edits is logged (in the occasional instance that information is needed) and changes can just as easily be reverted. If a page gets too many edits in a short period of time, going back and forth between information, etc, then editing it may be limited to only registered users of wikipedia, or even locked to remove the ability to edit the page entirely.

I just think if Wiki lets anyone edit "immediate changes", all of a sudden you can have all kinds of problems with people putting hateful, non truths and just basically putting whatever they want fact or fiction in someone's entry. And who edits the edits to make sure what is put on is truth?

Say Secret Method has an entry, are you going to look at it 24/7? Then say you piss someone off or someone randomly picks your name and just puts all kinds of shit there, who stops them? Who checks to see if it's indeed factual and not slanderous?

Yes, changes I'm sure can be reverted but what if it takes days before SecretMethod sees the hateful, hurtful, slanderous entries someone made on his page and he gets it taken off? How many saw it, believed those things to be true and now SecretMethod's name may be damaged beyond repair.

Or how do they keep people from just posting ads on entries? Knowing all this has truly hurt my opinion and how I look at Wiki. Perhaps they aren't as good a reference as I thought.

Back on topic: Thanks FoolThemAll for the article.

Yes, Wiki can be vandalized and it is quite often. Most Companys and politics keep and eye on their wiki and try to keep stuff they don't agree with off of it too. It's a win-lose situation. There's SOOO much information being processed on wiki that nobody can really screen it all. If everything was checked and verified, it'd be as worthless as the 1972 encyclopedia sitting on my shelf. You should not take EVERYTHING as fact on wiki but it is a pretty reliable when giving general information about very recent things.

That's pretty much as intentional and not "snapping" as it comes. I could see someone snapping and strangling someone until they die (before coming out of the rage early enough to stop), but you can't "snap" and hold them down, put your knee in their back, and have something handy with which to then wrap around their neck and strangle them from behind like that.

That just screams premeditation.

Also, I wonder if they already owned both bibles, or if he had to go buy one.

Steroids found in pro wrestler's body

By GREG BLUESTEIN, Associated Press Writer 17 minutes ago

Investigators said Tuesday they found steroids and other drugs in the body of pro wrestler Chris Benoit, who killed his wife and young son last month before hanging himself in the family's home.

Besides steroids, Benoit's body contained the anti-anxiety drug Xanax and the painkiller hydrocodone, according to a statement from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The GBI said Benoit tested negative for blood alcohol.

Benoit's wife, Nancy, tested positive for Xanax, hydrocodone and the painkiller hydromorphone.

The son, Daniel Benoit had Xanax in his system, the agency said. The GBI said it could not perform tests for steroids or human growth hormones on the son because of a lack of urine.

The test results were expected to shed more light on Benoit's last moments. Authorities said Benoit killed his wife and 7-year-old son in their suburban Atlanta home, placed Bibles next to their bodies and then hanged himself on the cable of a weight machine.

Anabolic steroids were found in the home, leading officials to wonder if the drugs played a role in the killings. Some experts believe steroids can cause paranoia, depression and violent outbursts known as "roid rage."

Federal authorities have charged Benoit's personal physician, Dr. Phil Astin, with improperly prescribing painkillers and other drugs to two patients other than Benoit. He has pleaded not guilty.

Investigators have also raided Astin's office several times since the deaths, seizing prescription records and other documents.

Before he was charged, Astin told the AP he prescribed testosterone for Benoit, a longtime friend, in the past. He would not say what, if any, medications he prescribed when Benoit visited his office June 22, the day authorities believe Benoit killed his wife.

This is a breaking news update. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.

DECATUR, Ga. (AP) — Investigators said Tuesday they had found steroids and other drugs in the body of pro wrestler Chris Benoit, who killed his wife and young son last month before hanging himself.

Besides steroids, Benoit's body contained the anti-anxiety drug Xanax and the painkiller hydrocodone, according to a statement from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The GBI said Benoit tested negative for blood alcohol.

The son, Daniel Benoit had Xanax in his system, the agency said. The GBI said it could not perform tests for steroids or human growth hormones on the son because of a lack of urine.
Well now that they have the results one step closer to seeing if they can blame steroids. At least they went after the doctor.

now thats real strange this is part of CNN's report

Quote:
ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- Investigators found testosterone, painkillers and anti-anxiety drugs in the body of professional wrestler Chris Benoit, who killed his wife and son last month before hanging himself in his Atlanta home, a medical examiner said Tuesday.

Dr. Kris Sperry, Georgia's chief medical examiner, said the body of Benoit's wife, Nancy, also contained painkillers and anti-anxiety drugs.

Sperry said it's likely the Benoits' 7-year-old son, Daniel, was sedated at the time he was murdered, because a high level of the anti-anxiety drug Xanax was found in the boy's system.

Xanax is not normally prescribed for children, Sperry said.

Chris Benoit's body contained an "elevated" level of testosterone and therapeutic levels of Xanax and the painkiller hydrocodone, Sperry said.

But, he said, the level of testosterone revealed nothing conclusive about the wrestler's state of mind before his death.

"There's no reliable scientific data that says elevated levels of testosterone lead to psychotic rage," Sperry said.

"The only thing we can ascertain is that this level of testosterone indicates that he had been using testosterone at least in some reasonably short period of time before he died," he said. "It could be an indication he was being treated for testicular insufficiency."

The investigators found no other drugs, including steroids, in Benoit's body.
Note that last line.....no other drugs including steroids in Benoits body......
