Gummo.
So I watched Harmony Korine's "Gummo" last night.
It was alright. Some good parts, like when the gay midget doesn't kiss the drunk guy, the part where they kill that kids grandmother, and all the glue sniffing parts. Although the "disturbing" parts werent so much disturbing as they were just boring. I mean, cool, the weird lookin kid is eating dry spaghetti in a filthy bathtub. Cool? Has anyone else seen this movie? And what did you think? |

I bought it about two years ago and I think I've watched it once in that time. It's ok, and worth seeing, but I've got no use for it now that I have seen it. It certainly isn't a "movie night" type of flick.
If there is something to gain from watching Gummo, I didn't get it at all.

I liked it a lot. It was extremely weird and the lead characters were incredibly unappealing, visually. But I think that was the intention... to knock you off-kilter a bit and make you think. About what, other than whiskey tango porch-sitters, I'm not quite sure, but I do remember having very long debates after the movie with my SO. We both watched it at separate times but it was over a year ago and I jsut can't quite remember what we talked about other than studies of the absurd.
