This was deserving of the hype. I just saw it and I plan to see it again in the next few days. I hate Michael "The Island" Bay, but he earned his meal ticket with this one.

I must say in all that is transformers they had to find a way to gel it into a movie. In ways i was let down by the plot. But then again who really cares.. I went to see a semi stand up at 80mph and kick some arse.

Yeah i wont do a spoiler man its sooo easy to slip up. It was worth it. Every second of the movie was worth it. *waits for the dvd*

Well I got to see it last night and I can't say enough about the movie.. This one was good. real good. I'm by no means a transformer buff, just a guy who collected some toys and watched the cartoon back in the day, so I'm not sure how it'll satisfy the hardcore guys. But I loved it. I won't give much away, but a few thoughts... The plot was solid, I mean you can't have robot cars fighting for the entire show, so they gotta mix it up. The love angle was kept to a minimum which was nice, and there were plenty of funny parts that had me laughing. And then there was the good stuff.... There was in my mind plenty of autobot-decepticon fighting! I think the last 45 min. was pure fighting. Seeing those guys transform and back again while fighting had me giggeling like a school girl.

This movie was great! I was really impressed. It was much better than what I was expecting.

I totally agree with you on this one. That part was classic!

I felt pretty bad for Jazz too, but I'm glad that they did kill off someone. Made it much more believable and really showed how powerful Megatron is.

At this point I am totally pumped for a sequal. The sooner the better!

OK some advice is needed. Grancey and I are both too old for Transformers. We were decades out of childhood when they first appeared. We've never even held a Transformer toy in our hands. We've never watched a single episode of the cartoon. If there are books, we've never seen a single one of them.

What are the chances we'll enjoy this movie?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. The draw of this movie is the awesome giant robots fighting and doing awesome giant robot things. The story isn't really that important or even all that interesting, it's more just a loose framework in which to hang some awesome giant fighting robots. So if you think you could enjoy a bunch of awesome giant fighting robots then you'll enjoy it.

I liked it. Was it a good movie? Not really. Was it the most entertaining movie and the quickest 2 hours of the entire summer? HELL YES!

The graphics in this movie were just in-fucking-sane. My jaw literally dropped when Optimus Prime and the other decepticon on the expressway transformed into robot form.........I couldn't believe what I was seeing

Pretty clever movie, too

Could've used more development of the Transformer's personalities (50% talking and 50% battling instead of 80% battling, 20% talking)

Wasn't by any means a perfect movie, I wouldn't even call it a good movie, but the action scenes and spot-on personalities of the Transformers and the never-seen-before special effects made up for everything - I actually may end up seeing this one again, just for the effects!

best guess.. everyone says watch it 3 times lol. You see will end up seeing it all by then. Ironhides cannon took over 50k shots to get the cannon iris to work.

I was at first let down cuz i"m a more G1 fan but yeah the cartoony blocky look wouldnt work. Most the cartoons were a bend and a fold and they were a robot or vice versa. I agree with Micheal Bay saying he wanted a more realistic and believable look to them. All the hanging parts and such worked.. the shift in mass was a good call.

Optimus was a long nose instead of a cab over due to the fact with a cab over he would only be 18 feet tall instead of his 28 foot girth.

Yeah jazz getting reamed blowed but then again they all never die. According to lore when a transformer dies his spark goes back to the matrix or "all spark" and thier experiences are transfered to the collective. They only become an individual when they break off and "live" again.

Michael was heard to say he wants an aircraft carrier and the dino bots in the next one. and he has a good story line on how to work them in. The aircraft carrier couldnt be worked into the movie due to money issues and such. but I say ok fine by me.

the part of masturbation spoken in jest in the movie abet funny I had to downplay it during the movie to my son. I get that confused look i gotta nip that out but other than that it was a good .. damn good movie.

the fact they all have battle face plates was new. In the newer transformer cartoons optimus actually has a retractable face plate so that wasnt anything new to me. I still say they could have done a bit better on the faces though.

Just to wonder I still didnt get a good look.. who climbed outta the pool in the movie.. i know it wasnt jazz.. my guess was either iron hide or ratchet.

but for once we got to see weapons and such working with out a esrb and such blocking it like in the cartoons lol.

The sequel BETTER have Starscream vs Skyfire.

Spoiler: Where did Barricade go? And why was Jazz still in car form when Bumblebee was severely injured right beside him.

I would have given this movie a 10/10 but man the acting sucked. I gotta give it an 8/10 because the movie wasn't that great until the autobots came on the screen.

This was just an awesome movie experience. Forget all the lore and whatnot, this was a superb adaptation. I felt myself getting chills when I heard that transforming sound. I was seriously tense and excited throughout the whole movie. The humor was unexpected, but very welcomed. The movie exceeded my expectations by a mile.

Spoiler: Barricade probably survived along with Starscream and Scorponoc. Jazz didn't help Bumblebee because he's racist.

Spoiler: I just read that in the novelization based on the movie Prime killed Barricade on the freeway. I hope he made it.

Yeah I noticed that on Wiki. We'll just have to wait and see for the next movie, or the movie after that (there's already talk of making it a trilogy).

Wow. That was actually a good movie. Not great, but good.

#1. It was FUNNY!!! I laughed out loud multiple times, especially during Shia LaBeouf's scenes. Bernie Mac made me laugh like 5 times. IF I HAD A ROCK I'D HIT THAT BITCH IN THE HEAD

#2. The first half was better than the second half, oddly enough. Bay had some really good acting and dialogue in this movie with a script that was well above normal movie quality. It fit the movie perfectly.

#3. The transformers look amazing as everyone has said. I'm glad they waited this long to make a Transformers live action movie because CGI wasn't up to par until now.

#4. I wish 30% of the action was taken out of the movie and replaced with 30% more dialogue. The transformers had really cool acting and really cool personalities. I just wish they put more scenes of dialogue in for them. The Decepticons needed more back story. It'd be cool to see a back story about Cybertron where it showed exactly how Megatron and Optimus Prime became enemies, etc.

Overall I'm really really impressed. This goes up there with The Rock as being GOOD Michael Bay movies.

It has been less than ten minutes now since the credits rolled, and I cannot say enough about this movie; although I knew little to no back story prior to watching this live-action adaption, the premise was simple enough to follow. Be assured that I will follow up on wikipedia to learn more about the history of the Autobots/Decepticons, and then my "official" review of the film.

Incredible!

I agree with what has been said so far for the most part. This movie was awesome and I will definitely see it again. This is what is in your head as a kid. You imagine them moving like this and stuff. Great piece of entertainment. Plot? Who cares. They fight like the whole time. Great. Very fun

More dialogue?

pshaw, fellow fans, pshaw.

This movie was awesome for what it was supposed to be...giant transforming robots kicking each others asses. Fantabulous. Can't say enough good things about it. Death match under the overpass? Great stuff.

I probably could have done with a little less dialogue in general. Except Optimus....everything that guy said was solid-freakin' gold. Maybe a little more Bumblebee/Optimus stuff like in the cartoon, but aside from a few brief moments (ARE YOU LADIESMAN217?) and almost all of the kid's stuff, he could thrown it all away and I wouldn't have given it a second thought.

Not that I give a shit, because...well, giant transforming robots fighting, right?
