Futurama! A new season!
It was rumoured for a while but it looks like Comdey Central is going to order a new season of Futurama.
I am totally looking forward to this. I love the series and hope it keeps going and going. LINK Quote:

Gret news! Since Family Guy returned i was sure this was only a matter of time. I know i'll get flamed but Futurama is way better than the Simpsons, specially the last 5 or so Simpsons seasons that have been nothing but bullcrap.

I wonder how they're going to play the Fry/Leela relationship?

I enjoy Futurama, but only after giving it a second chance. When I originally saw it on Fox, I couldn't sit through an episode, but once it got on Adult Swim, I was hooked with a quickness. It's a much smarter show than either Simpsons or Family Guy. I love the science nerd jokes, and am really looking forward to some new greatness from these new episodes.

It was probably the best news I'd heard in a very long time. I'm thrilled that futurama is coming back. It is by far my favorite cartoon ever. I'm just disappointed that it's going to comedy central. It's been such an integral part of my Adult Swim experience for so many years, I will miss it dearly. Ah well, I'll take more futurama whereever I can get it.

I am stoked about this! Futurama was a great show. Now they've got to bring back Firefly.

Good news, everyone!
Futurama just got brought back to life - not as DVDs, like the last couple of years, but as a fully-fledged TV show on Comedy Central! The order is for 26 episodes! Huzzah! One of the coolest things about this, besides the obvious, is that I think the cast must be extremely pumped. Whenever I've read interviews with the voice cast (especially Billy West), they always talk about how much they genuinely loved Futurama. Now all we need to do is get Firefly back on the air somehow...

I guess I missed the first reuppal; I shall not miss the second! And I suppose I'll echo the sentiments uttered before, but Futurama is still perhaps one of the best animated cartoons/sitcoms created, possibly besting the first decade of The Simpsons run. This is HUGE NEWS! The Out of This World Long-Awaited Reunion click to show

New Futurama Teaser Trailer! | Comedy Central Insider Blog
I can't seem to get the new trailer to work, but the basic gist of it explains to you, the awaiting audience, is that new episodes begin this June. (also, each and every time this announcement happens, I'm actually expecting for a new season of Futurama to start back up, not just receive a package of 3-4 episodes that are intertwined to make a made-for-TV movie revolving around this universe. I'm not complaining, but it does get to be weird to hold your breath for something that has yet to happen in 3+ years; a brand new season and series upstart.)

A+ for clever referencing. I loved the teaser trailer, too - "it's some sort of comedy central channel and now we're on it" indeed.

I would've created a new thread for this, but I don't like to create them for nothing, and it ties in, so here is the scoop:
Recap-O-Rama: Five seasons of "Futurama" condensed into nine minutes, narrated by Zapp Brannigan:

Well, now that the new season premiered, what do you think? Personally, I really enjoyed Rebirth and thought the second ep was just ok. But man oh man it is good to have Futurama back. I can't wait for the rest of the season!

There's some sort of mini-marathon of it to be run tonight on Comedy Central, at midnight (Est) ; perhaps the two newest episodes will lead off this showing.
