ALIAS - Final Season

All week long, I've been seeing ads for the return of Alias, and I could not be any more excited. Don't know if anyone else shares my love of this show, but if so, I thought it'd be nice to have a thread to discuss the ending of one of my favorite shows. Six episodes left - one 2 hour episode this Wednesday! If anyone has seen the previews for this, we know that Irina Derevko will be around, as well as Anna Espinosa, Will, Sark, and Vaughn. A main character will supposedly die (my vote is for Sloane). And that whole mystery of whether or not Vaughn is actually alive. So, how about it? Any Alias fans out there?

I watched the first episode of this season and was less than impressed. So much so that 8 more episodes are sitting on the Tivo just waiting. I've not been all that excited about the show especially when knowing that the season is going to be the last one.

Why would I care if any of the main character dies? They bring them back from the dead all the time, not to mention that they are killing the show as a while.

I really did love this show so much, but once it became clear that JJ Abrams was now putting all his effort into LOST, Alias lost it's luster for me.

I'm very excited for the return tomorrow. But about Vaughn, how in the world could he come back, he was shot up by a sub-machine gun at point blank range... That would be impressive. My guess is it's just a flashback of some type.

Maybe he didn't really die. If you notice in the first episode of the season, he conveniently gets something to drink right before he "dies". Perhaps it was just something to knock him out so he could disappear and be safe? Just a theory.

OMG, Alias is back, that's for sure. I'm figuring people have watched so I'll skip the spoiler tags. First off, I find it troublesome how quickly they warmed back up to Sid's mom. I mean cmon, she isn't the most trustworthy people on the show. And how in the world is Vaugn still alive?? We saw him get shot with an uzi about 12 times...

But I loved it, the next 5 episodes are going to be great, I'm going to miss this show when it goes off the air.

How is Vaughn still alive? Hmm - I think if he survived long enough after being shot to make it through surgery and spend some time in the hospital before "dying", then there's a good chance he's alive. At least I hope it's really him. And as far as Irina, I don't know why they ever trust her, but I have a feeling she's up to something - isn't she always? Who knows what side she's really on, except for her own.

Did Jack and Sydney know that Vaughn was alive? I think they did! On the plane, right after Sydney mentions that the baby has Vaughn's eyes, she starts to ask her dad for something and Jack says that he'll take care of it. Immediately after, it cuts to the ending scene with Vaughn. I think he's in hiding and that they knew all along. My theory, at least.

So, it's been confirmed - Jack and Sydney DO know that Vaughn is alive and are obviously behind his hiding. Anna Espinosa is now Sydney's double (I personally couldn't think of a better bad girl to be her double). Will had a bomb in his head. And who knew that agents doubled as babysitters. But my favorite part of the whole episode was Rachel asking, "What's Rambaldi?" Anyone else watch last night? Any discussion?

Yeah, I hate this part of the year all the shows are finishing up so I have to struggle through a day of work, just to get home for nightly television.

I couldn't figure out when they told us that Syd new Vaughn was alive, but then I realized they didn't and they were behind it. I just don't get why she's been SO dramatic about him being gone if in her head she's known he's alive. Maybe it was all part of the act.

The agent babysitter part was somewhat humerous, being a dad myself, I could have used that type of help. But cmon, brief cases with padding for bottle nipples...

And about Rachel, it is funny that Rambaldi has been such a big deal throughout the show, and yet she's clueless. But it's true, she's relatively new. I think Sloan is going to have a pretty tough time keeping away from that, it was his lifes work.

Man, I don't like posting back to back. Guess it shows you that no one is really watching, and why the show is getting cancelled.

So many people died last night. Renee and Sloan's daughter. Man, Sloan sure is the ultimate bad guy. And to say the guy is a victim of his own circumstances is such BS. The guy brought it all on himself, because of his obsession with Rimbaldi. I can't wait to see how they finish this thing up.

You're not the only one posting, but I'd say we are the only 2 posting.

I knew Sloane couldn't end this show being a good guy. He's too obsessed with Rimbaldi, consequently, his obsession is what killed his daughter. But, had Nadia not been there, he probably would have never discovered the secret on page 47. I'm quite interested to see how this whole thing plays out.

Looks like next week, Vaughn will meet up with Syd's double. And Sark should be back in 2 weeks, I believe. Should be a great wrap up of the show - ultimately explaining all of this Rimbaldi/Prophet 5 stuff. Plus, I'm really interested to see how Merrin Dungey (Francie/Evil-Francie) is going to fit into the finale!

Ah, can't wait for the return of Sark. He's one of my favorite bad guys throughout the seasons.

I enjoyed the first 2 or 3 seasons and after that I began to think
the good guys had lost their minds by letting SLOAN into their org.
Now I'm eager for ALIAS to end and make room for something new.

mmmm, Sark. I can't wait for next week. I'm quite curious to see what he and Sloane have cooked up. Plus, with Syd undercover as Anna (or, her double rather), should make for some interesting scenes. Loved Marshall's, "I knew it, I knew he wasn't dead!" Plus, nice to see Vaughn again. Looks like the last 2 episodes are set up to be action packed. Oh and what's going on with Grace - I can't figure out who he's working for! For any other show, this would seem like a lot of things to keep track of, but for Alias, I'm used to it.

Well tonight is the night, I can't wait. First I'll have to watch 24, but then it's on to Alias. We'll finally get to figure out this rimbaldi thing, hopefully something happens with that. And I think they did a real bad job with Grace, that side of the story doesn't really hook in well, and just seems like filler now.

I'm wondering if they had something planned out for Grace, then when the episode order got cut down, they just wrote it out like that. Either way, I can't wait for tonight's finale. Hopefully it'll be done well and we'll all figure out what Rimbaldi's endgame was.

Wow. What an ending. I won't spoil it for anyone because I know some probably haven't seen it yet... but what a way to tie up Sloane's storyline. Just wow.

Yeah, I thought it was a really good finale. Closed up all the gaps I think. So what was the whole point of Rimbaldi though, eternal life? If so, Sloane is screwed. I really liked how they showed the ending, and saw them living happily ever after. That was really cool.

From what I gathered, the Rimbaldi ending was eternal life. So, Sloane's trapped forever - while the ghost of Nadia just walked away from him - he's all alone. And I love that it was Jack to take him down. If he was going to die, he was going to do it his way and he was going to win. Such a great ending!

I was very content with the ending...I was glad to see the show go too. Season 3 and 5 have suffered so much that it was time to put this story to an end.

I really liked the whole show. I think back to the first season, it really had a lot of promise with just keeping to somewhat real world plot lines. About the point that there was a huge spinning red globe thing that made people turn in to crazy zombies. Well, that was when I was thinking WTF happened to the writers. Well, a good end to a fun show. I'm going to miss Syd...
