Hmm... i'm surprised they didn't do this earlier, but without more info, the best I can say is "meh."

I can't imagine them doing anything in the movie that they can't do in an episode.

Marge, nekkid and in charge!

They should've put this out years ago when more people gave a damn.

yes, they shoulda released it about 5 years ago. now, it's just lame. i will not go see it. there would have to be some naked marge or some 3d homer again to make me see it.
might download it.

i will not pay to watch a 2hr long tv episode.

Hmm.....Family Guy releases movie.......now the Simpsons have announced a movie. And wasn't it the Simpsons who poked fun at Family Guy for "plagiurism"?

So tempted to img a photo of naked marge.

Meh, I loved the Simpsons, but they ran out of materials ages ago. The tragedy of this movie is that it can't possibly live up to anyone's expectations.

Cause she's hot, of course! But I, along with others, predict a bomb with the movie. Or at least a "ho hum, nothing special". Worst Prime Time Cartoon To Movie Translation Ever? We'll have to wait and see.

The Simpson's to me was best Season 3 to about Seaon 8 or so. They were golden then. Couldn't make a mistake. I bought the seasons sets and watch them regularily. But, after that, I really lost interest. The writing seemed to go down hill. I don't even really bother watching the new shows anymore. At least we still have Family Guy.

I dont know...a few differant news sources are reporting that the film is going to be written by Matt Groening, James L. Brooks, Al Jean as well as other writers from the early years who has been working on the producton side of thing for year years.

With the classic writers working on the film, and and quality plot i think this film could be good.

Will it be good as early seasons, no. By to discount it b/c seasons 9 to 14 really sucked doesnt mean that the film is going to suck.

The last few years, imho, have been really good. Dropping Mike Scully as show runner and homers new job of the week model was the best thing that they ever did.

Sounds to me like a desperate attempt to revive the public's interest in this dying show. It's do or die. If this movie is a hit then it will get people to watch the show more, if not then they're fucked. Either way, they're going to make a lot of money because THE SIMPSONS FINALLY HAVE A MOVIE!!

I have to say, with Groening and Brooks on board, this will likely be a good movie, and a return to form from the early years.

Yeah. 8 is also where I draw the line between the good old simpson's and the sucky new simpson's. It's not just that they have run out of material. The show is different now. The animation changed, the music changed, the whole feel of the show changed, and the characters seem forced like "this is what homer is supposed to be like" instead of it just being that way naturally.

EXACTLY! It has become a cheap copy of itself. Which is a shame, it was so good to start with. I don't mind natural changes/progressions in shows/music. But, something about the show just lost the magic. Kind of like comparing the new star wars trilogy with the classic trilogy. They seem like poorly made copies.
