Sopranos Season 6 Discussion/Speculations

I can't believe that i'm the one starting this thread...i would think on a forum such as TF that there would be more excitement for the new season. Sopranos fans are getting a bad rap these days for being elitest but i mean c'mon we're only two episodes into a show that's had an 18 month hiatus and it hasn't lost its touch at all. So let's get this thread started.

They've both been great, I really want to watch the second episode again, there seems to be so much symbolism and such going on.

I've also read that David Chase said it's not a dream sequence, but actually Purgatory.

Anyway, I thought the 2nd episode was beautiful, though some people seem to really hate it.

You should use spoiler tags as a courtesy since some other people Tivo, use VOD, or even wait for the DVD to be released.

I'd kind of expect the title, which warns of Season 6 discussion, would be enough to ward off people who haven't watched any of Season 6.

But fair enough.

Well, there was this thread I started:

Sopranos Endgame: Who's gonna get whacked?

But apparently it was not very interesting.

And as for whackage prediction, I think it's safe to assume Uncle Junior and Vito are not long for this world.

I would think Purgatory would be worse for some of the stuff Tony has done over the years.

So far, I don't dig it that much. Not sure but whatever happens, Tony has to be dead or in Jail at the end of all this. Nope - dead. He can't live. . . the show won't really be over if he is still alive.

**SPOILER ALERT**
Sorry i kinda started this thing and forgot ran off but heres what i'm thinking.

The pergatory thing makes sense mainly because the dream sequence was very...almost excruciatingly linear. As we've seen in the past Dream Sequences in the sopranos are very surreal such as Christophers dream with the severed hand handing him the sausage, and Tony's teeth falling out ETC.

Another very interesting thing was that the man that tony met at the light (although in the credits they called him "MAN") was his cousin. If you remember all of season 5 Tony was giving TonyB privledge because he was afraid of his judgement over the panic attack he had the night TonyB got sent to prison (he told everyone he was jumped by a couple moulanyons (SP?)). (see episode: UNIDENTIFIED BLACK MALES).

Those dream sequences were kind of like Sopranos Fan Pergatory too...jeez (they had their moments though)

As for the previous post, it was kind of buried so i figured people wouldn't relate it to season 6, which i wanted this to reflect specifically. As for who's going down this season...my guesses are Vito (after he fully aligns with Phil), Phil, Jinny Sack's brother, and Little Pauly. those are just off the top of my head. I think Tony will end up back in the hospital and his health will hold him back sometimes. it'll be good to see him back in his feet though in Commander mode. Other then that i'm just gunna ride it out see what happens. Should be a fun season.

Interesting to see that art imitates life imitates art with Spoiler: Bobby shooting the rapper in the ass.

BUTT SERIOUSLY . . . RAPPER SHOT AT HOT 97
By BRIGITTE WILLIAMS and LARRY CELONA

April 27, 2006 -- A Brooklyn rapper was shot in the buttocks outside the studios of Hot 97 last night, but was still able to sit for an interview at the station, police sources said.

Jamal Wollard, 28, who goes by the rap name Gravy, was hit by one bullet as he arrived at the notorious station at about 9:30 p.m.

Wollard came with an entourage of about 30 cheering people wearing T-shirts with his name on it.

When the gunfire erupted, people began screaming and running for their lives. But Gravy calmly walked upstairs to do the interview despite his wound, the sources said.

After receiving dozens of 911 calls, cops sealed off the station, looking for any victims.

When they found Wollard limping around inside, they asked him what happened, and he said he had fallen, the sources said.

But officers noticed blood and he was taken to St. Vincents Hospital in stable condition.

As he hobbled out of the station about an hour after the shooting, Wollard shouted, "Where's my car?"

A distraught woman jumped into a Bentley and followed the ambulance.

Hot 97 has been the scene of violent incidents before, most notably when members of rapper Lil' Kim's posse Junior M.A.F.I.A. shot a man for talking too loudly on his cell phone.

Lil' Kim, whose real name is Kimberly Jones, was convicted of obstruction of justice in the case.
