Good Movies for the Woman
 

Over the last year my girlfriend has made me watch a good share of movies that were just not my type of movie. The movies were good, but I found myself sitting through them (even Gone With the Wind, man what a long bore). Now its time for some payback. I could get her to watch Predator with me, but I'd rather us both enjoy it.

What are some suggestions I can add to my list?

So far the list is short...

1) Fletch
2) The Usual Suspects
3) Shawshank Redemption
4) Fight Club (for a second time, it gets better each time)

A Beautiful Mind

Requiem for a Dream
Trainspotting

My wife will watch anything with Tommy Lee Jones (I think she's got the hots) or Kevin Spacey (because she thinks he chooses only quality scripts). So I might recommend:

The Fugitive
Volcano
Space Cowboys
The Usual Suspects
LA Confidential
Men in Black

Several of those, coincidentally or otherwise, have strong female characters, so she can identify.

Planet of the Apes - the original starring Charleton Heston
Grosse Pointe Blank
High Fidelity
Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
The Count of Monte Cristo
The Bourne Identity/Ultimatum

A good strategy for your situation, is just to choose your favourite films featuring actors she finds appealing.

This woman likes early Marx Brothers ;)

For me, this list would definitely not be payback of any sort. These are actually some of my favorite movies! If you make her watch these, I'm sure she'll love them!

Any hadcore hentai cartoon (likely to be available on DVD only). Try "Behind Closed Doors" or "Viper GTS" the only film I have ever seen that posited that angels are chicks with dicks.

Try any movie by the Coen Brothers and add Boondock Saints to that list.

Give City of God a try. It's pretty violent but it's an excellent story. Well directed, also.
