The Apprentice 5
Promising start to the new season last night. I am, however, getting tired of them advertising the candidates as "the best and brightest 16 out of a million applicants" when there are always one or two chosen clearly for being strange or obnoxious (as the previews for next week indicate)

No, your building is not the most beautiful thing in the world. It doesn't even come close. I am not impressed, sir. I know what you mean about the "best and brightest" comment. I am sick of inflated claims made about the placed products in the show. I am going to pass on this season, thanks anyway. We need something new. Don't ever let Survivor stop, though.  |
I'm as big a fan of this series as anyone (I love to watch pompous business nerds get their comuppances), but I couldn't be bothered to watch last night's premier.
While it's always taken some suspension of disbelief to imagine Trump as the pinnacle of business acumen, it's getting harder with every passing season. His hucksterism shows through, the product placements are clumsy and overbearing, and the true fate rewards for the winners are dubious. Martha's clunky edition certainly didn't help the brand. I'll try and catch up with the Apprentice later on. |
The problem with this show is that every episode there are people mess up. BIG. Why can't there ever be an episode where everyone does WELL?
Almost forgot to mention, when all the candidates were listing their credentials, I was laughing my ass off when one guy simply got to say "I have 2 sons." Granted that not everyone got to say everything they probably wanted to say, but it was hilarious. Now THOSE are good credentials. |
