Zathura
I thought the effects in this movie were great. It's basically Jamanji in space but it's holds it's own very well.

Proof
I didn't really know what this movie was about other than anthony hopkins being a math genius. The movie really seemed to go by fast even though it was over 2 hours. It wasn't really what I was expecting but I enjoyed it.

Saw 2
The sequel to one of my favorite movies of 2004 wasn't a disappointment. Although I liked the first movie better, It was almost painful to watch it a second time because the suspense was ruined. Saw 2 didn't really have that problem in my opinion. Although the ideas from the first film were better, the writing, budget, and overall quality of the Saw2 makes it much easier to watch a second or third time.

Mirrormask
I've always been a fan of Jim Henson, and the Jim Henson Company's special effects/puppeteering. Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal were some of my favorite movies when I was growing up and I can still be caught watching them sometimes. I took notice when I first heard about it, but then I heard Neil Gaiman, the author of the Sandman Comics/graphic Novels wrote the screenplay so I was pretty excited. I've been wanting to watch this movie all week then today I opened the UPS box and.. No Mirrormask... So I'm going to have to pick it up this weekend.(Isn't it sad when I have more to say about the movie I didn't watch than I do about the ones I did?)

TV on DVD this week:
Grey's Anatomy - Season 1.
Although the only character I like on the show is O'malley I really enjoyed the 2part episode this and last week. I hope the rest of the season compares. I missed most of the first season so I'll probably pick this up sometime in the near future.

I hate horror flicks, and I wasn't too impressed by the Zathura trailers I saw, so I'd have to go with Proof. Hubby really wants to see this, so I'm sure we will end up renting it sometime in the near future.

OOOO DEFINITELY Mirrormask

This movie is what happens when imagination doesn't die when you enter adulthood... It is just fantastic.

Anxst 02-15-2006 05:16 AM

Mirrormask...because Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean are freaking incredible!

hulk 02-15-2006 06:30 AM

I was tired of Saw 2's gimmicky plot about fifteen minutes into the movie. Going only from word-of-mouth about the first movie everything that happened in the second was expected. Why they didn't just pry the boards off the windows is beyond me...

Reese 02-15-2006 05:51 PM

Hulk, They broke the door down and it had a metal gate behind it. I would assume that every window in the place was also blocked and although it didn't show it, they probably checked.

Grey's Anatomy Season 1. It's the only thing from the list of choices that I have seen, so I already know it's good.

Saw II or Mirrormask... I didn't see either in the theatre but am still curious enough.

Zathura was a great kid flick by the way. My son loved it.

Redjake 02-17-2006 05:49 AM

zathura is really great, not just for kids. my GF and some friend went to see it and we had a great time; left the theater in a positive attitude and felt we got our money's worth. solid choice!
