It seems that they've taken pains to make it as similar to the game as possible which pleases me a great deal. I'm also happy to discover that they've chosen the plot from the first SH game as it is the best (apart from SH4) - in my opinion, instead of making a whole new one as they did in Resident Evil.

I rarely go to the theatres these days but I'll make an exeption with this movie as I am a SH fanatic. This is the kind of movie that I want to experience in a theatre with all their advanced sound technology and be scared half to death during the movie

I agree. I'm also pleased that they've got some good actors involved, Rhada Mitchell & Sean Bean.
I sure hope this isn't another Resident Evil.

Plot wise SH1 was the best, but all out freakyness goes to SH3. I'm really looking forward to this for 2 reasons. It's not directed by uwe boll or Paul Anderson.

As a big fan of the Silent Hill series, I can't wait to see this movie. Unfortunately for me...

I'll be in boot camp for most of april and all of may. By the time I get out of basic training it'll be out of theatres. I signed up for the Navy at the wrong time.

They filmed parts of this in my city last year. The sets (locations?) are really well done. I worked night shift at the time so after our shift was done a few of us would walk around where they were filming early in the morning before the film crews got there.

The second time we went it was a really foggy morning, felt exactly like a lot of scenes from the original video game. We took a lot of pictures, I'll see if I still have them somewhere on my hard drive.

Silent Hill is by far the best of the survival horror genre. Well, the best of ANYTHING EVER if you wanna scare yourself to death.

Movies and other games can't create a fear in me like these games can. I also intensify the effect by playing with the lights off at night when all is quiet.

I remember walking through the underground abandoned prison in SH2 while a thunderstorm was going on outside. The room with that voice, the "invisible" inmate.. the toilet stall, all had me freaked out when all of a sudden there was this hideously loud crash against my screen door.

I jumped outta the couch so fast, and was so freaked out to the point where I thought I was gonna puke. I didn't know what it was at the time, but when I opened the door (was even hesitant to do that), I saw it was the garbage can and some nasty wind outside. It was crazy...

Love it all.

one of the best videogame experiences I've ever had is while playing Silent Hill 3. that game was too. fucking. scary. I am a HUGE Fan of the silent hill series. I hope this movie is decent. it deserves a good movie.

Those moments are what make survival-horror games. I love it. I have so many Resident Evil and Silent Hill memories - I'm surprised I never gave myself a heart attack.

I too play them only in the dark and only at night - adds to the atmosphere.

I just saw the trailer on TV and I gotta say it gave me chills! Some of that stuff was right out of the first game! My excitement just went up 10 fold. I'm definitely going to replay the whole series before the movie comes to refresh my memory

Sorry to reply so late in the thread to this, but just a quick response: There are actually secret UFO/alien endings in just about every Silent Hill game, so that just leaves toy dolls and you'll be convinced? I'm sure they're in there somewhere...

I believe he appeared in Silent Hill 2. I'm not sure if he will appear in the movie or not, since it's based on Silent Hill 1. I found it at a website saying it was the "movie version" of Pyramid Head. I have no confirmation of its authenticity; it looks quite authentic to me though

Looked it up on Wikipedia. Looks like it's authentic. Pyramid Head will be in the Silent Hill movie.
