Potter Movie fans... Ready for the Order?
I am pretty excited...
Order of the Pheonix started filming today... or maybe yesterday... I think I may even read it before it comes out... maybe... Cheers all!

after the disappointment that was Goblet of Fire, I'm not as excited as I might have been at one time. I'm reserving judgement until I see how badly they mangle it.

On one of the movie sites someone pointed out that this was a Potter book that could actually benefit from a film adaption. I remain hopeful. If done right, they could tighten up the Umbridge debacle which was so drawn out in the book.

I actually liked the Umbridge debacle, especially when it really got going, i.e. the Weasley bros. , and Harry's career interview with McGonnigle. Yeah, Umbridge pissed me off, but I liked that it showed a more humourous side of the Hogwarts experience.

I liked a lot of the characters in Order of the Phoenix. I hope they've found good actors for Luna and Umbridge. And I hope the twins get lots of screentime. Can't go wrong with the twins. This was the book where the wizarding world was really fleshed out if I remember correctly, we got to see lots of how their government works (or not!) and their hospital and stuff like that, which was neat. At the same time, this was also the book that definitely killed the Death Eaters as scary enemies. They are just too stupid and clumsy to be taken seriously.

I'm a bit hesitant to get too excited about this, because I was so looking forward to The Goblet of Fire and was disappointed. There is so much information in the 4th and 5th books that trying to condense it down to a 2 or 2.5 hour movie is just impossible. I really am interested to see who plays Umbridge and I'm sure I'll relish the scene where she gets carried off into the forest

That was my big complaint about the movie adaption of GOF as well. There was so much going on that they cut out, and that will be difficult if not impossible to put back into a later movie. J.K. Rowling has got to start doing her own screenplays!

The Order has to be my favourite book in the series. Like Pip pointed out, you get to see more of the inner-workings of things like their government and how it all fits together. And it's the thickest book so there's just so much more stuff.
Anyone know who's directing it? Is it another new director? I was one of the "how could they cut that out/change that?!" kids after GOF so I'm going to be a bit hesitant when it comes to this one...unless there are some kick-ass reviews/leaks before the time
