wont the reflections be wrong if you put it into something else? :hmm:

but seriously, this is pretty cool! i gotta ask though, are you tracing or just using a reference?

also, the mirror looks odd. unless you're not done maybe? it just looks like a radial gradient.

overall

That's not a mirror, that's a helmet :)
I'm changing as much of the reflections as possible to be shades of grey/chrome, ie: that chrome disk on the bottom actually was reflecting a red car. It's 'tracing' the colors-I work one section at at time at about 1200-1800% magnification then correct and improvise at about 3200-6400%.

Ok-it's been just over a month. Still have a long way to go, but it's lookin sweet so far! I put what I have into PS7 and chromed over the chrome, reducing it's opacity to 35-40% to smooth and shine it up. Sneek preview thus far:

Awesome Work!

Being an illustrator myself, I can understand the challenge this piece is, and I am So Totally Impressed with your work and willingness to share the techniques behind your art. That takes a very special person and you, my lady are da bomb! Fabu stuff....can't wait till it's done. I might even suggest you let the Harley folks see a taste. Unless you aren't in it for the bucks at all. If that is so, than I must say it's an honor to see your art in process & we are humbled!!

Hugs to you dearest demiGoddess Ng!! And many, many thanks..........

I love the detail right down to realistic sunglasses on the seat. God damn you're good. Congrats and keep up the good work!

that is beautiful... the work that went into it is incredible...

what's your next hobby going to be? :D

ngdawg 04-12-2006 05:18 AM

sleep?
Actually, I'm finishing up an acrylic I started in the fall, got another in sketch and a third is in my head, but that might get done before the sketched one does.
I learned a lot doing this. Like.....quit earlier in the evening...and, black is not always just black. I'm actually still playing with this one a little. The next time it's printed won't be exactly the same as the last time.

I know Flyman wouldn't mind....I contacted the director of Patriot Guard Riders and offered up a print for silent auction, all proceeds to go to PGR. I have posted about this extraordinary group in GD. Hope they accept it :)
