two new paintings of mine - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

the idea for the first piece just... sort of hit me while on the road in BC over the summer. it think the details of it apply moreso to my current situation than they did 4 months ago.

and the second... well, its just a really obvious hommage to a band i adore.
i took the picture from one album, which i've always loved, and put it with the colour of another. honestly, i thought it just looked better.

these two are pretty out of my typical "style"... which is basically why i made them. the last thing i want to do is get stuck in a rut over the way i paint.

i finshed a third about a month and 1/2 ago. the trouble is my dear whom i painted it for has yet to see it.
it's... discouraging, but what can you do?

perhaps im a bit crazy, but since he's a fellow tfp member im reluctant to post a picture in case finds this thread.
i painted it for him, and i want him to see it in person... not on the internet. it's just one of my things.
a bit of a predicament... but perhaps ill be pleasently surprised, and ill be able to post the picture soon!

anyways, any comments?

Those are pretty cool. The second one would make a great CD cover.

I like various aspects of the first painting. What can make it look better is to bring them all together and have them overlap and interact with one another in some way. At the moment they look a bit scattered.

Great work though and thanks for sharing, your style is inspiring for some one like me.

I love the sewed up rips and the sign language in the first one. Very awesome work! What do the words say at the bottom of the first one?
