HEY!
It's always more fun to draw real people rather then celebrities form magazines. The idea: Post links or PM me pictures of yourselves. Give me a little while and I will draw you! Some will be protraits others may capture everything, some may even be stylized. Try to give me difficult pics with defined shadows, intresting possess, expressions and/or character. PS. I am rather capricious so I never finish any of my pictures. If your wan't your pic touched up or if you wan't a beter quality scan - PM me. Cheers. Mantus, how could I not let you post that wonderful artwork? I always say it's a shame to keep talent hidden. Again, I'm flattered and it is awesome.
I can't wait to see more of your drawings of TFPers!

Hey guys!
Wow, the responce has been great, thank you for all your support. This was a really good idea as it keeps me drawing, something I haven't done for a very long time. I am trying for one pic every three days. Here is an update with flyman and amonkie. I did no justice to amonkie's gorgeous smile but I had to try, perhaps another time Cheers Last edited by Mantus; 11-06-2005 at 08:30 PM.. |

More amazing work Mantus. Photographic realism with an artistic touch that gives it more life than a photo could.

Finally an update!
I've been working my ass off and got sick...so my muse has been beaten down by fatigue, medicine or both. Yet here is the newest addition to our colection: Johnny Pyro. This was a great study for me, he's got allot of personality and facial hair - which I have very little experience with. Hope I did him some justice. I am sorry that I leve these sketches unfinished. I am rather capricious. As always thanks for the kind words. Cheers! |

Mantus, I am so happy to see the growth that this thread took. You are truly amazing. It's nice how you can capture the person from a photograph. I lost this thread for awhile so thank to Tec for making it a sticky.
I look forward to seeing your other works when you get them finished.

It is times like these that I have a renewed sense of humanity.
Absolutely incredible. How many ways can I say it, other than that? Cello's Avatar got me to this thread, and I still have a lump in my throat from seeing your work. Good lump, like when you see the person you love from a long distance, and you want to tell them how beautiful they are, but they aren't close enough to hear anyway, and it doesn't matter because there aren't any words to describe it. I am tempted to find a photo that you could draw. I always wanted a B&W pencil sketch of my buddies and I. I have seen work done like that, and it is my favorite medium for portraits. I have an impossible self-critical image. My uniform is wrinkled in some photos, my beret is kind of goofy in another. My face looks like I weigh a thousand pounds at that angle, that photo I look like a sun-fucked onion. What does it say about me when almost half of the photos taken I am shit-faced drunk?

Hey good people!
I am being bad. I haven't touch my sketchbook in a week. So I got to work today and got some results...I hope. Smooth's beautiful girl, lusciousmunkee. It was a fun project, though very hard. The smaller the face, the harder it is to capture a persons look because you have fewer lines to work with. Once again, thank you so much for all your support, it keeps me drawing. Hopefully, I'll be back to post more tomorrow. Cheers. [update] Heh, insomnia can be a good thing. Wanted to do something fun.
