Lewis, you've got digital versions of your images? What kind of resolution? Couldn't you just get them to a printer and get paper giclee versions of them for sale or something? I would think it would be pretty easy to find a printer with a large format printer who could make some prints for you.
I got to meet Larry Elmore this summer and visit his studio (larryelmore.com). He's one of the most known fantasy artists in the world, in case you don't know his work. They take all of his photos and get them scanned at high res so that he can have digital versions of them. From there, they do prints there in the studio using a high-end inkjet (really high-end) on nice paper. It produces fantastic looking prints. The printer is similar what you would find in many print shops though and so I would think they could probably do something like this for you if you had high enough resolution scans of your work. Just an idea for you.

Larry Elmore - clever stuff. He's obviously a guy with a good business head!
Thanks for the thoughts. Yes, I could get some done as giclees, and will look into it. I usually take a hi res photo of each piece so I could do that with just about all of them. I guess I am just a bit uncertain about sales until I am a bit better known. I actually met the guys who invented giclee some time ago at a party in New York. Fascinating. Wasn't one of them in ELP? |
