(Very old drawing [from like...2000], but...) DRINK UP ME HARTIES YO HO! A pirate barmaid. :)

NEXT WEEK: Rebels!

El Pollo 07-18-2005 10:26 PM

Nice pic
I like the costume design, but I don't think I'd like my waitress to be scratching her ass while she serves me... :p

I'm so glad "Pirates" was chosen as this week's theme. Who doesn't love pirates? If I get a chance later in the week, I may have to go for a double submission. But here's my sole submission for now.
Next Week: Outer Space

pollo, that's amazing!
and true indeed, who doesn't love pirates?
perhaps even pirates love pirates...

this is the last know photo BEFORE the hook.

Nancy 07-18-2005 11:36 PM

^^ *giggles* absolutely brilliant, dobster :D

Nancy 07-18-2005 11:38 PM

El Pollo: that looks pretty damn neat! So.. did you make it from an image in your head or do you actually have little Lego pirates at home you could use as inspiration? :p

Nancy 07-18-2005 11:39 PM

Hey doodle! You forgot to suggest something for next week!

El Pollo 07-18-2005 11:58 PM

Ha!
That's great, doodlebird! My parents have parrots back home and I'll verify, those suckers can bite hard and fast! Once got me on the nose. I learned a valuable lesson that day...

I wish I had Lego toys around here.
Instead I had to rely on internet pics to see how they look.

So why don't you? Ok so they're expensive but not that expensive?

Sure, they're not that expensive if you buy just one. But Legos are like crack. I'll buy one tiny pirate set, then I'll want the bigger pirate boat set, then I'll want the bigger pirate cave set, then I'll want the Spider-Man set, then I'll want the space station set, then I'll want the soccer set, then I'll want the medieval set, etc. Soon, my apartment will get to the point where it's unsafe to walk around in my bare feet.
Besides, I already have too many toys around here anyway.

I just found my box of legos the other day when I was moving. I had not seen them in 8 years. I have a pirate set in there somewhere.

my pirate...

so true.
i spent over 2 hours the other night looking at vintage legos on ebay.
(for me this means pre-1980.
everyone has their own frame of reference for what is vintage.)

edit: umm, but i never heard anyone ODed on legos.

El Pollo 07-19-2005 10:22 AM

Cool pirate, animosity! He looks like a character from a Tim Burton movie.

Half of my legos were passed down to me from my step father... :D

El Pollo 07-19-2005 10:17 PM

Sweet Dino-pirate, clavus! I like his tiny tiny gun which fits perfectly into his tiny tiny dinosaur arms.

Charlatan 07-20-2005 05:29 AM

I made my son cry last night because I accidentally wrecked one of his favourite lego creations...

I told him I was going to clean the basement if he didn't do it himself... I told him many times... Unfortunately, when I clean it is a bit too thorough...

Poor kid. Breaks my heart to hear him sobbing like that...

clavus 07-20-2005 07:42 AM

suggestion for next week:
Legos

Draw something or take a picture of your own Lego creation.

to increase the chances, i'll second clavus' LEGO idea.

edit: and clavus, that is one sweet dino-pirate. the feather in the hat makes it for me. i knew my little dude was missing something. i might just have to go back and put a red feather in.

FngKestrel 07-20-2005 12:39 PM

Kind of reminds you of the bit in gullivers travels where gulliver gets tied down by the little people xD

No, it's not me. I just did a Google search for "Lego overdose" and that was the first thing to pop up. Alas, I no longer own any Legos, especially not enough to pass out on.

Aww, he looks like such a polite and friendly pirate. He's the kind that feels bad when his colleagues are looting and pillaging your town. I really like the sense of style in the pic.

He's a French Canadian pirate! :D::D

Charlatan 07-22-2005 05:51 AM

He looks more like the singer from Dead or Alive, only with a haircut:

He will get over it. My mother did the same thing to me on many occations. It will teach him to keep his stuff cleaned up, or at least make him think you are evil. :-p

What do you mean I'm past deadline for this?
Bah! Pirates don't need no stinking deadlines!
Especially pirate ghosts!
Yarrr....

great submissions guys!

Great ghost pirate!

Something tells me El_P is not an amature.

Don't I wish...
Unfortunately, I can't seem to get a job in the creative industry. But I haven't given up yet. I'll be a pro someday...
