Giraffe
Because there are only a few precious years when my son will think its cool that Dad made him a toybox and painted him pictures. Here is my latest.

Since I am on the topic, here is one of the toyboxes. I don't have the lid on at this point.

that's beautiful -- the colors are great... and the giraffe is adorable
me thinks the clavusettes will think dad is cool for a very long time... |
how old is your son?
that toybox is flippin' great.......man if only i had one of those when i was a kid. we had to give the toys we didn't play with to charity(which is cool)...or they were hand me downs. me and my sis coulda just tossed the unused ones into a box like that...........damn |
Thanks. Son#1 is 4.5. Barbarian-Child is 1.5.
The toybox is made from one genuine piece of plywood. It features a large, lidded central-storage area, a drawer, and a cabinet with shelving on the left side. |
i like the toybox, i'm a sucker for 45 degree lines O_o
|
The Galloping Wanker beat me to it: love that toybox. Be sure and keep it around once the kids grow out of it. Because barbarian or not, while its coolness may fade for them, once they get past adolescence they'll no doubt come looking for it.
|
I still have my toyboxes.. full of toys...
theyre in my room as "chests" with pillows on them for sitting. |
What the? Does every American have these Toyboxes or what? :hmm:
Fab work clavus, mrs clavus must be thrilled about having such an artistic and handy husband :) ..and... if your kid doesn't want the giraffe painting in the future could I have it then? Coz... it's too damn cute to be thrown out, I mean.. look at those eyes! :p |
Of course we all have toyboxes! Just like the Canadians have toy-cyinders and the Mexicans have toy-globes. Egyptian children all have toy pyramids. What is your national toy container geometry?

... and you're avoiding my question about the super cool giraf, mister!

If Mr. Giraffe is ever in danger of the garbage can, he will go to you instead. I promise.
Geez. At this rate, you are going to have the most extensive collection of clavus original artwork in all of Europe! Oh, wait. You already do. |
clavus.... that toybox is simply too hot for words.
you have a vvvvery LUCKY family, getting all these fabulous handmade clavus™ wonders. you could sell that toybox for BIG dollars. seriously. and mr.giraffe is adorable, too. :) Nancy, where do little kids in your little part of the world collect their toys if they have no toy containers? |
Thats freakin cool man. I had a toy box when I was a kid but it was a cardboard box :|

Great work Clavus. You and your kids are luck to have each other.
My daughter thinks my art is either "gross" or "scary" if not both. |
clavus,
your giraffe is great. the neck going off the canvas is too much fun. and GH, your daughter might be right. |

Jeez... I wish I could make stuff.
The only think I make is a mess. And I even do that badly... Mr Mephisto |
I just found this thread...but that toybox is awesome. I love it. And the giraffe picture is great. Good work!!
|
Very nice work! How did you do the paint?
I had a toy box when I was a kid. It was a big yellow crayola crayon box made of plastic. I could fit inside. Infact, my sisters and I would clinb inside and push each other down carpeted stairs. Wheeeeeeee! :) |

Throughout the project, I used beer to moisten the inside of the artist.
