MoNoXiDe_XXX vs. majik_6
After much behind the scenes talk and deliberation, MoNoXiDe_XXX's great plan has come to fruition!
Basically, we're still setting the finer points of the rules, but unless I get a PM from him, I figure we're doing this using the standard rules of the Versus thread, except with maybe a little more leeway in the amount of time allowed for rebuttals (I work weird hours as a collections agent, and I'm sure that his tattooing has some unusual scheduling requirements as well). So without further ado, here's the first image in the epic battle of the tattooist and the wanna-be tattooist! :) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...S/jumpoff1.jpg |
this is going to be a great battle! :D
Say majik_6, you forgot to tell us what MoNoXiDe_XXX is suppose to prevent your smoke from doing. Does he have to put it out or prevent it from burning everything to the grown? waht? :) |
That's a great looking cigarette!
Just to give some specifics on dobster and my battle, we've agreed to give each person 5 days to respond to an attack. That's longer than Nancy and Dizzet's 4 day period, to accomodate the craziness of the holidays. In addition, we've got a rule that the loser needs to draw a final portrait at the end incorporating both players. That's a hold over from Nancy and Dizzet's battle, decided beforehand whether the winner or the loser draws the portrait. We've also only allowed items that begin with the letter L. That was more of whim and because I'm slightly deranged. :D But dobster must be slightly deranged too because he agreed to it. ;) :D Anyhow, good start, and it looks like it'll be a cool battle as well. |
I think we just decided in an all out brawl.. To the DEATH!!

By the way guys, have you decided which one of you will be doing the loser/winner portrait? |
i think that we both should... winner draws loser and vice versa :P
|
Nice start of a battle!
It has a very distinct tattoo feel to it.. nice to see it so distinct from other battles. |

Agreed! That's probably the best idea for the portraits. Sorry for the delay in responding, but I just had a whirlwind trip through several states culminating in getting a Canadian girlfriend! And as for the previous suggestion of getting some sort of tattoo to commemorate the battle...well, I'm not sure I'd get the hole image, but I'd consider something. :) |
Hey... damn you americans :P Leave the canadians in canada!
Yea, and i would pretty much get anything tattooed |

Hey majik_6,
Why is that paper so yellow and how did you make that cigarette? Did you draw it by hand? |
If he did thats impressive. It looks airbrushed. Real cool

It's fully hand drawn, as will be all of my contributions to this thread. :) I may airbrush something (maybe), but it'll all be non-digital. As an homage to the tattoo-style I did it with colored pencils and ink on an 11x14 piece of bristol plate (the standard material for sheets of flash).
As for the yellowish tint, it was too large to scan and the lighting in my house is very yellowish (and I don't have a good photo editor). Okay, so I've gotten some stuff drawn up, but I'm hesitant to post it because I can t figure out a good way to print out the existing drawings to work on them. I'm computer-dumb, so if someone could explain to me how to print out that image in a big enough size to draw on, I'd be very appreciative. All my attempts are very faint or very blurry. |
i save it to whatever and open it in photoshop and print to a full page, and then draw accordingly and scan again to what ever size.
if that makes sense <--drinkin |
Printing out the existing drawing may be a problem unless the image is at 150 to 300 dpi. At 72 dpi, your print out will be pretty small and painful to work on and trying to size up will cause problems.
|
i just resize it in photoshop
|
Finally, after much delay, I have my response!
I ended up having to recruit a techie friend to help me get it printed in a clear manner, but here it is. Let's see you finish that cigarette after a full syringe of HORSE TRANQUILIZER!!! HAHA! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...okey_thumb.jpg click for full image |
Wow, mad skillz.
|
this is a MOST impressive battle ... I may even get some tattoo ideas from it :)
|
