Awesome move FngKestrel. Using your enemy's own weapons against him. Most excellent.

dobster 12-27-2004 06:59 PM

Aaaah, the old "Lassoing the Tourist Attraction" bit. Seen it time and time again. Always shows promise, but basically fruitless when confronted with my (solar powered) Laser! A HA! A HA! A HA HA HA HA HA HAAA! heh...

FngKestrel 12-27-2004 11:13 PM

Awesome laser dobster! Hmmm...

dobster 12-28-2004 02:36 AM

'hanks FngKestrel! So will you need my picture for the portrait then? Hahahaha! Only kidding mister!

Nancy 12-28-2004 04:01 AM

hahahah excellent move dobster!

Fly 12-29-2004 12:01 PM

ahahhahahhaa...sweet move laser man.....

FngKestrel 12-29-2004 05:11 PM

To defeat your multi-million dollar (solar-powered) Laser, I'll use a 2 dollar Lid to cover up the solar panels! :D

Coppertop 12-29-2004 07:09 PM

Once again, ingenuity trumps science. Nice move FK.

GakFace 12-30-2004 10:33 AM

haha... just checked this thread out.. nice job guys.. makes me wish I could draw (but then I remember I'm just too damn lazy)

dobster 12-30-2004 03:00 PM

A LID?!!! I'm trying to take this seriously, Fng. You're telling me I've got to go back to the committee with a f*cking Lid! How is that going to make me look, huh?! I have responsibilities in this town, man! Round here I'm considered a serious and influential figure, or at least I was! A LID?!!! Surely we can set a standard here, its almost like you've lost interest! You're not wrong with multi million, dude, I've got financiers to answer to now.

Can you lend us a twenty?

Zephyr66 12-30-2004 03:08 PM

well, it's not like a lid's gonna be hard to get rid of

Oh we can certainly sort this lid out, but the expense of each of these counter attacks just sky rockets when you consider the backline staff I employ. It just means commiting alot of time and money in order to destroy "a 2 dollar Lid". Something like closing down a factory or discrediting a well loved public figure definately incurs a justifiable outlay, but this is ridiculous. I could show you the paperwork involved...

GakFace 12-30-2004 07:08 PM

heh.. too bad we can't give out hints.. I just thought of the perfect counter for this. Completely expense free too heh.

K-Wise 12-31-2004 04:19 AM

Yeah I coulda come up with something better than a lid as well. But I don't think I can draw good enough to do one a these things anyway.

Asta!!

FngKestrel 12-31-2004 11:28 AM

Oh, trust me, I was going to do something more on the offensive, but the idea of defeating his laser with something so simple was too much to pass up.

K-Wise 12-31-2004 12:07 PM

^ I bet I know what it was!

Asta!!

dobster 01-01-2005 07:00 PM

Right FngKestrel, I'll admit you had me on the back foot with that Lid effort. I figured you'd just unplug me if i didn't provide evidence of another power source. A nice move it was, yes. However, despite my griping, I think I'll just employ another disembodied hand and Lift that lid out of the way. There.

FngKestrel 01-02-2005 04:06 AM

Hah! I know you have cost overruns dobster, how much does it cost for you to employ those giant disembodied hands?

Hmmm...this is ponderous man, really ponderous...

Ssshhhhhhh!! Dude! I'm not even sure if the disembodied hands even know they're even being employed even! No one here has been able to discuss things with them - we just sort of guide them in and give them things to hold. Bit cheeky I guess, but I think they're happier if they feel useful, you know? Difficult to tell...

Oh well, it saves us a fortune, oops! (think I might set up a discussion in another forum about this - feeling a bit guilty).

(BTW how do you think we built the Lego Tower in the first place? )

FngKestrel 01-02-2005 11:33 PM

I'll let your disembodied hands do their thing. But I'll move onto creating a pool of Lava to swallow up your leveret and the Lego Tower!

http://img125.exs.cx/img125/8522/lava7bc.jpg

(lava doesn't translate well to b&w, btw)

dobster 01-03-2005 01:29 AM

Right. That actually looks very final, in fact. Hmmm. I suspect Fng has had that up his sleeve for a while now!

Ouch! Unless you come up with something clever real fast then I'm afraid Fng is gonna win

Coppertop 01-03-2005 01:18 PM

Kinda looks like an ice floe now.

FngKestrel 01-03-2005 01:58 PM

Lol, the source photo I drew from looked good in color, but as soon as I desaturated the values, it looked wierd.

dobster 01-03-2005 04:44 PM

I think it looks wicked dude!

cyrnel 01-03-2005 04:59 PM

A buff disembodied hand could hold those legos aloft.

City planners and the EPA will be none too pleased should someone report this lava flow in a valuable industrial zone.

Anyhow, what's to prevent the sky from falling, a meteor from landing strategically, or near miss by another celestial body from plucking undesirables from the scene? It's utter chaos!

Its Easy, they don't start with the letter "L"!

cyrnel 01-03-2005 06:44 PM

City planner = <b>L</b>ieutenant of industry
Minor planets = <a href="http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/iau/lists/MPNames.html#L">~200 begin with "<b>L</b>"</a>
How about a (formerly) <b>L</b>evitated pallet of fire bricks?
Or a jumbo-size SPF-4000 <b>L</b>ip-balm to soothe and moisturize the Lego foundation?

dobster 01-03-2005 06:59 PM

It's all in hand (heh) guys... reLaxxx...

K-Wise 01-03-2005 07:09 PM

You guys aren't allowed to help the artists. I've had ideas too haha but you can't give em out cause it's against the rules of the duel.

Asta!!

Ishmal 01-03-2005 07:12 PM

does that mean Dobster hasn't given up???

(However) Grrrrrr and indeed Ah HA HA HA HA HAAAA!

K-Wise 01-03-2005 08:00 PM

Thats absolutely cool dobster!!

Now lets talk about royalties :hmm:

Asta!!

cyrnel 01-03-2005 08:24 PM

Sorry, I couldn't help myself after what appeared to be dobster's concession post.

It won't happen again, other than to mention my royalty rates are quite reasonable for Jumbo SPF-4000 Lip-balm.

Ok guys, I guess that slight potential for retreat got your attention then! Glad to see we still have a baying (paying?) audience. Thank you for your continued support. It's more than I could get from the Lego Corporation itself. Thanks your "help" Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen.

Anyway, that aside, please burn your science text books and behold, the Levitating (The disembodied hands are in talks with their union) Canister of Liquid Nitrogen which will, from it's floating position, turn the Lava into ice!

It turns out the publishers are going with: "Welcome to "L", A Battle of Wits in the World of Structural Stability". So no royalties I'm afraid, K-Wise :(

FngKestrel 01-04-2005 01:37 AM

Nice one dobster! :D

Hmmm...

K-Wise 01-04-2005 02:58 AM

<font size=1>cheap shot...</font>

Asta!!
