Garage Logo

I made this logo for a family members garage. Any comments/questions/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think it may be missing something but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Not bad, but as an illustrator myself, I first notice the wrench illustration is a bit weak. The rest of the design is real clean, but the lines in the wrench are rather ragged. Also, the star seems like it doesen't belong. The "A" doesen't seem to fit either, it's so bold it overpowers the rest of the design.

It's a good start, but the parts are not really working together as a whole.

I have to agree with everything Mister Coaster said. The wrench doesn't fit in with the clean design. The angle of the A also doesn't match the W in works and that bothers me a little.

Maybe the star as the hole in the A? Probably cliche, but hey what do I know?

It does have very good elements.

I'd have to say that the "KIM'S" part stood out first for me. It looks like you just typed out something in a cool font, but I think for logos you need to go a step further than that. I guess I'm not the "KIM'S" part of the logo doesn't have any intent and feels weak to me. I'm also kinda anal and don't like how the spacing between the "A" and "w" in works isn't uniform and how you can see part of the star poking into the interior space of the A.

...being overly critical

I'd say I agree with the above comments, as well as there being too much white space at the bottom.

Nice start though!
