awesome stuff on here guys! I've been a little busy this week, but maybe I can sketch something to throw up by Saturday.

lol!

At least you're a pretty good painter so perhaps you could paint something the next time? :)

Ok, I must admit: The reason I'm so bad at art is because I'm lazy. I'm too lazy to buy the supplies. I'm too lazy to move everything around in the apartment so I have room to paint. I'm too lazy to have an imagination.

now that's a real shame. But you know, you don't have to move furnitures in order to draw sketches in a book ;)

Hey Pacifier aren't you gonna join us this week?

Pacifier 10-29-2004 02:36 AM

You can make realistic human beings and bad-ass subs but you can't make cats?! I have a hard time believing you! :p

Never the less you've got yourself a deal Clavus! can I choose which cat I want for my coaster then? Or does this deal of ours secure me TWO coasters? I'm having a hard time deciding whether I want the one with the stars or that last one you made you see..

Well, the only one that is "real" (ink on paper) is the one with the stars. I don't think a laser print would do that well if I coated it, stuck it to cork and poured resin all over it.

How about I send you two coasters - the cat with the stars, and a dog to match?

Sorry for the delay in replying. I was in Milwaukee. For real.

clavus 10-29-2004 11:02 PM

Next week - alcohol

FngKestrel 10-30-2004 11:16 PM

Sneaking it in after the deadline. :D

Okay, so quick and dirty, it makes me feel dirty.

I had to give an homage to one of my favorite webcomics and the boneless kitty that resides in it. Go read Something Positive and fall in love with Choo-Choo Bear.

FYI: Rereading the first couple of webcomics, I forgot how dark the humor was. You've been warned.

I'd like that! Send me a PM when they're ready for shipment :)

Better late than never

Four renderings of a cat head modeled in Solidworks. Took longer than I thought it would.

Fremen 11-01-2004 04:24 PM

Wow! That's some cool looking stuff, vermin.
I've never heard of Solidworks. Is it bundled with Photoshop or something like it?
Or is it an independant program?

Whatever it is, those are some pretty sharp looking pics. :)

vermin 11-01-2004 06:26 PM

Engineering software. 3D CAD, basically. It has a photorenderer with it that lets you save a screenshot as a jpeg. These were then re-sized in MSpaint.

The problem with using engineering software for something like this is that everything needs to be dimensioned. Typing in numbers instead of just sort of random sketching. Everything has to be planned in order to make it look like anything.

So in other words, you had to go through probably four times the steps than if you used a normal program?
Damn. You done good. :p
Blows my piddly little drawing away. ;)
