What kind of time do you have in these? Is it worth your time to try to sell them. Seriously, I'd probably buy one.

Wow, that actually looks very cool. I can definitely see people buying these. You could dress up like a gnome and sell the doors door to door

If you start selling them just make sure you save some for the little people...

Weirdly cool.
For jewish gnomes you could paint blood around the doorposts (passover gift idea).

The construction time is about four-six hours. It takes a little longer with the staining. To get the grain effect on the door, I stained it, and sanded it almost all the way off. That took a little more time. The most time consuming thing is the drying time. I put three coats of polyurethane on it so that it can sit outside for years without problems. The total time is a couple of days, when you consider that I let it dry overnight between each coat.

I was doing a google search for woodworking plans, and I stumbled across a site that sold the plans for these doors. I bought the plans, and changed them around a little bit until I got the look I liked. I've got one sitting in the front of my house, and the neighborhood kids love it.

Nope. It's purely decoration only. The "hinge" is just a dowel with two grooves cut in it.

I love things that are unique and have some character, and can inspire conversation --the gnome doors, all three apply -- they're fantastic --

if you ever decide to sell them... they owuld be a hit --

I love these! You do really great woodwork. I'd be very interested in buying one, should you choose to build and sell any

Amazing work as always fhqwhgads. How did you make the little nails on the door? Is it wood or did you burn the shape into the wood?

I drill 1/4" holes into the wood and use walnut dowels for an inlay.
