So I picked up a copy of Photoshop User. Learned a few things, read about some things I knew. Cool magazine. One particular article was how to create shiny, double-beveled text. While their description was just eleven steps, each step had multiple steps inside. It took longer than I thought, but came out pretty cool. I'm pretty much in awe of people who can churn this stuff out in mere minutes.

hmm you can smooth the edges with the feather effect if you want? It makes the pixels fade out nicely

Looks great. If you want, you can create an action to do this with any text you make, that way you can try out different fonts pretty easily. Just go to the actions window and hit record after you have the text down, then when you're done stop it and save it. then the next time you have text, just hit the play button on that action you made and it does it all again for you.

Hope you don't mind-i took the liberty(being such a photoshopoholic) There are settings that appear in the right hand section of the toolbar when using photoshop text that will help a little with the pixelization-unfortunately it may not irradicate it all completely-they are not vector-based in PS-for that your need Illustrator-hope that helps you out. have fun!
