Lion Sculpt

Here's a lion I'm working on, it's halfway done. I plan on making a mold of it and filling the mold with liquid stone. Any criticism would be greatly appreciated.

wow totally cool.. reminds me abit of the lion from 'The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe' Very cool... hrmm I think that was it... but either way if you ever do the mold and finish the cast show us how it turns out :D

I prefer light stone because it seems to bring out the detail more....

might be just me... but thoes front arms seem kinda long...
could just be the picture...
but ya, i really like what you're doing there.=

yellowgowild 09-29-2003 11:15 PM

hahaha, and I thought they were too short...
I might be on crack though.

Tasu 09-29-2003 11:32 PM

Eh, just use reference :)

Great work. The mane really looks nice! It can be really hard to replicate fur in any type of art.

ARTelevision 10-09-2003 04:14 PM

thanks for your contribution.
the in-process aspect is real nice.
good luck with the piece!

hansthemolemann 10-11-2003 12:02 AM

G5_Todd 10-11-2003 07:05 AM

It fell off my desk the other day and now it needs to be redone. I can show you some more pics but I dont think you'd want to see a retarded looking lion :P

hansthemolemann 10-11-2003 05:55 PM

:( ah man, that sucks...how much time had you put into it?

yellowgowild 10-11-2003 07:13 PM

about 3 hours of actual sculpting but alot of time was spent studying the lion form. I found out there's a fine line between a lion and a bear look (without the mane of course)

When I get possesed again I think I'll try to fix it......

JBX 10-11-2003 08:00 PM

Wow, really neat.

Semi-Normal 10-12-2003 02:15 AM

Awesome. :)

I'm with Tasu on the arms... not sure if they're too long or what, but they don't quite look right in that pic. The mane and face are amazing though.

cool stuff, please continue to post pics of this in the future.
