the ribbing like uppersuit (?) of the body in the lower right corner and the positioning of the head in the upper right and the set of the jaw and the mannequin pieces remind me of anime. eva....shirow...and the 80s.

the drawing style reminds me a bit like the drawing in the hive - devious methods disc. i always thought that the art in that looked pretty awesome. i don't mean the cover, the art in the booklet. its all half drawn shit like that.

actually.. the shading and abstraction of the picture put me in mind of giger.. it's very alienish.. though obviously a bit less detailed, i was reminded of his pictures that seem to be eched from a metal plate.. do you know the ones i mean?.. also looking at it again i can see that the robot from metropolis could have been an influence in this one.. great work!

Funny how you mentoned the two things I seem to think about alot. I talked to Giger's agent asking him for some more of those aluminum plates but the ones they had were all scuffed up and walked upon. And i think "Metropolis" was the best pioneering movie of it's day. I can see alot of Maria the robot in alot of doodles I make.
