Rejected Roller Derby Logos
The team name is "Potential Fresh Meat." They insisted having the team name and "Roller Derby" or "Roller Derby Practice Squad" on the logo. That seems WAY too much to read, but what do I know?
Anyway, here are more of my artistic failures - http://www.mightywombat.com/etc/pfm_skull2.png http://www.mightywombat.com/etc/pfm2.png http://www.mightywombat.com/etc/pfm.png http://www.mightywombat.com/etc/pfm4.png |
That does seem like a lot of words on a logo. Still, I can't believe the first one got rejected, I think it looks fabulous. The band aid one is nice as well. the others aren't so much my thing, but wouldn't have looked out of place at any of the roller derbys I've been to.

Yeah, two word limit on catchy logos.
|
I want to see the non-rejected one. I also really like the first one. I think a few fractures in the skull would be a nice touch.
|
The first one is pretty good, but I really dig the last one. Honestly, if that one lost out, I'm very interested in the winner(s). That's one I'd buy.
|
I didn't mean to imply that I had an accepted logo. They rejected everything I did.
Fuckers. |
I really like the first one but what's the significance of "Practice Squad" in the name? I'm just starting to figure out this photoshop thing (I'm actually using Gimp, opensource all the way!) but this is basically what I'm trying to get at. I was trying to figure out how to make the 'Roller Derby' come out bigger while staying with the contour of the circle but it wasn't working out so I just left it alone. The pink shading was a pure accident when I changed the transparency color but it looked dope so I left it alone. Yeah, I'm a straight guy that likes pink. A lot.

Yah, it's much easier to type new copy than to manipulate existing copy. You did well.
"Practice squad" signifies that they are a farm team; a low level squad that does not do league-level games, or some such. |
