hello all! i am so pleased to stumble back into TFP for an undetermined time frame.
i must track down sketch book, crappy phone camera, and post some poo.

GH, your tiny parachuting elephant from 9/21 wants to come live in my tiny house. please send it over now.

all of your works are great, but frogza and kramus give me something for which to aspire.
my land is land of only two dimensions.
i love how you two cram that elusive 3rd dimension on the page and tell it who's boss.

Giant Hamburger 10-23-2009 09:32 AM

Hail Doodlebird!

Your late arrival excites the joy molecules in my blue stream!

Your vacuum-navigating airborne horned tentacle creatures make me absolutely giddy.

Your beautiful intelligent daughters are fortunate to have you as their father.

evilbeefchan 12-07-2009 04:37 AM

Just finished up an ink drawing for a Secret Santa art trade. It's 4x6 inches on watercolor paper, using ink, acrylic, coffee and charcoal. I haven't worked on a drawing in a looong time, so I'm damn happy with the way it came out!

Ahoy Evilbeefchan!

It is a pleasure to have you in this thread.
That is a good looking image.
Tell me more about using coffee.

I can't stop drawing cephalopods
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2641/...fb052c3d8a.jpg
but it's hard to tell what they are thinking.

evilbeefchan 12-07-2009 01:13 PM

I like to add color washes to warm up the tones but I don't like some of the color calligraphy inks available, So I tried using cheaper options i.e. leftover coffee and tea. Since the pigment is fairly watered down, I can keep layering it on to get subtle lines and textures. Also there's some oxidation that occurs whenever using these materials (green tea & wine especially), so the tones feel more natural to me. A bit unpredictable and time consuming, but that's all part of the fun. =)

Vigilante 12-09-2009 11:31 AM

Ah, I haven't drawn anything decent in years.

I can't find any of my old scans from pencil and ink, but I do some work in MS paint haha. This is what I drew last:

What ho Vigilante!

Is that a High Efficiency, Low Noise, Inductorless Step-Down DC/DC Converter?

It needs a tentacle or three in there somewhere if you want to up the efficiency more than just two-times higher than a linear regulator.
Just saying...

How I wish to feed your addiction to our aquatic tentacle-toting friends. Rumor has it they like to consume wax fruit and Pepsi.

Giant Hamburger 12-11-2009 08:11 AM

Ha, good call

I just want to power my headphones without a battery. Battery added for idea of contact placement, but not to be kept in the system while running on USB.

How do you feel about beavers?

Those beaver paws look rather menancing.

Do they vote?

Beavers and cats have no equal when keeping one warm on a cold night.

Go Beavercats!

Giant Hamburger... how do you feel about designing tattoos?

Giant Hamburger 12-21-2009 11:33 AM

I feel nothing.
I can't imagine anyone wanting my art permanently affixed into their flesh.
That being said, I encourage everyone to do it.
EVERYONE!

Dunno Hamburger -

...In a drunken stupor, I could see myself getting that gurgly-necked headless thing with the wagging tail on my ass.

My cold blue heart has grown three sizes imagining the scenario you have described...
