Largest graphical project I've ever done.
I am definately not the artist myself, however, I did all of the graphics at some degree on the website that I co-designed, developed, and maintain Mindlence. All logo's were just modified to be part of the page, so they are not my own work (Including the site's logo). To become a part of the open source community we put this site together to distribute our code (there isn't much there right now but we're working on it)
Warning - this site is most likely the dullest thing you will ever see if you are not a programmer. I'm really not sure how artistic you would call the work I did, but it IS MY most major artistic achievement and most fun GUI project. Any feedback (good or bad) will be greatly appriciated. Edit: unfortunately, after a few rewrites, most of the graphics that I personally developed were eliminated, however archived here: Mindlence 1.001.001. Not too shabby, friend. One quick tip, though... floating anythigns are amost univesally hated, so I thinkt he right decision was made in ditchign that part. Overall, however, I would have to say I like the archived one better too

I appriciate the feedback. Keep it coming.
However as far as the archive vs current, the best thing about the current thing that keeps it working as is cause it looks more professional as far as websites go. I believe that the archived version is more fun and technically challenging, but that was at a cost that my friends thought was too much. At some points (actually frequently) either images didn't show or display as intended and/or the processor was being pegged by javascript animiations. So that is why the site changed so much. It is great to hear some other oppinions from people I don't know, cause I think friends and family are biased. Thanks!! |
