Scanner Art 2007

First, it was flowers.
This time-amazing what you can do with crumpled tissue paper

Ok, maybe not amazing, but fun!

I just found out from someone in Deviant Art that my scanning stuff resembles Boyd Rice work...I didn't even know who Rice was but, damn, it does.

Try moving things around while you're scanning them. Personally, I find old copying machines to be really fun when you do this; blowing things up and playing with motion creates for some really interesting visual textures.

I like the last one, but I think you would do better to rely less on the photoshop filters

I've done that too-move things as they're being scanned but so far, nothing great has come up that could be left alone. But it's interesting and nothing comes out the same way twice.
My toys of choice are more the plug-ins, like Xero. Then by using the Fade, Image settings, etc., I get much more work out of what PS alone offers.

These are really cool. I wouldn't imagine you could make such cool looking designs/patterns using a scanner and tissue paper. Something to play with while bored at work!

I like this one the best for two reasons.

1. It looks like a Led Zeppelin album cover.
2. It looks like there's a face in the very center.

btw...the goddess pic is very cool too.

HA! That's a really neat concept, ngdawg!

I like #4 the best; it reminds me of surrealism which is my favourite style.
