Need help with a card game's art
 

Another forum member recommended me asking for help with a card game that I am redesigning (for personal use) in this forum.

basically i am collecting cool pics of amatuer street fighters in action, psychologically dark images of drunk college frat boys, homeless bums, or alcoholics fighting desperately for beer money, girlfriends and wives getting slapped around, kids getting backhanded, and quoting the most humilating and vulgar insults and put-downs... i have even considered some pics of the 3 stoogies slapping eachother around as well.

any help would be much appreciated...

i would suggest drawing them or getting the drawn for a better look. they'd all look the same style if you do this. unlike if you used pics from the internet, it could be totaly random and not very stylish.. plus if you get them drawn, you can do ANYTHING you want like putting blood, black eyes, etc... weapons if you want too. :) thats my take on it. good luck!

Basic rule of hiring an artist... Good. Fast. Cheap. Pick 2.

Mav, what I think you should do is organize all of the cards and get the symbols and method of play ready to go on your own. Thats the thing that would need to be most organized and consistent. Next, make a list of all the cards that will be in play, post that here, and ask people to draw the scenes themselves, in their own style. It may take a while, but eventually you'd get folks here to pick a card they wish to illustrate, they post the drawing here, and you can dross that one off the list. Lather, rince, repeat.

I figure the drawings will come in with several different styles, from several different artists, but would all be custom work from the TFP.

Personally, I think this would make for a really cool project for the TFP artists, and I'd love to draw some scenes for Maveric. Anyone else interested?

absolutely! even if it takes a while, it would be a cool little project. plus, if you ever print out your card game, then you could send a copy to everyone who helped? eh?!

AWESOME IDEA! I'll start working on the basic card template and get the card lists/descriptions up, hopefully by the end of the week.

a pic of someone getting smacked upside the head with a beer bottle would be cool.

i was thinking a sketch of someone catching a thrown fist or shoulder blocking a right hook would be sweet...

figured the sketch would probably be someone getting choked or someone puking... someone puking while getting choked would be just plain wrong, lol.

BTW, this also happens to be with the card with the longest description.

i think a sketch of someone landing a blow on someone's chin or perhapse someone falling backwards from a punch landed in the face would make sense... (ironic i know)

figured this one might be a sketch of someone standing over the victim raining down multiple blows or mabey someone dropping a flying elbow down on a prone victim...

probably a pic of someone getting their arm twisted so far that they drop a weapon...

either a pic of someone pointing at an imaginary ufo in the sky or at someone's "un-tied" shoe laces. possibly a cheese cake shot of a skinny babe with big tits and a round ass.

pretty simple i think, mabey a guy doing back flip or some other unnaturally flexible pose to avoid a striking blow. perhapse dodging a hail of bullets or ducking just below a hail mary right cross punch...

almost certainly should show the attacker throwing so many punches so fast that it looks like they have multiple arms/fists sttriking the opponent.

obviously a sketch of someone interuppting an attack or breaking free from a hold. this pic of henry rollins breaking free from a restrictive t-shirt could be inspiring...

a simple sketch of someone being grabbed would suffice...

the rules state that this card represents a large weapon such as pipe wrench, pool cue, chair, or tire iron...

should be a sketch of a physical blow being delivered to the victim's chest approximately where their heart should be...

the sketch should probably be a close-up of the face of someone who has just been humilated. ...perhaps a sketch of someone getting their pants pulled down around their ankles.

their are two versions of this card. this version of the card that causes the victim to lose 2 counters should be a sketch of someone receiving a normal forward front kick. The other version of this card which I re-named "Super" kick does 4 counters worth of damage should be a "super" kick to the chin (aka sweet chin music) of the victim - inspired by Shawn "Heartbreak Kid" Micheals.

close up of a closed fist about to strike...

the rules describe this card as being a small weapon like brass knuckels, a roll of quarters, a belt, or their favorite, a shoe...

any regular melee attack would suffice...

should show an opponent being thrown through a door, into a wall or out a window as the card states...

this one is a bit more difficult as this card is described as an enhancement to any other attack... perhapse a sketch of a victim bleeding more profusley than normal....

a sketch of an attack that causes a part of the victim's body to become caved in...

a sketch of your basic wrestling move of the same name...

a sketch of the victime having a pound of flesh ripped from their body... pretty gruesome!

this is a more powerful version of self help (first aid). perhapse a sketch of the player in a victory pose or akimbo stance...

probably a sketch of a player bandaging/patching up a wound, or mabey stitching up a bleeding/gaping wound...

One of the single most damaging attacks in the game. This sketch should represent a coup de grace, or final fatality...

a sketch of someone getting smacked in the head from behind or punched in the kidneys would be appropriate...

should be a more impressive version of the beer bottle sketch...

this should be a sketch of the victim getting their ears boxed/clapped and thus stunned...
