Homemade Belated Birthday Card

I am a serious cardmaker! I love making cards- it's like hands on graphic design, old-school style. Everyone in my family gets a handmade card for their birthday and anniversary, and I made all my christmas cards last year. Anyway, this is a belated birthday card I made my sister-in-law this week, and I was so proud of it and thought it was really neat, so I wanted to share. Enjoy!

I think if I make a card like this again, I'll have the "happy birthday" be above and below the "LATE," so it will read better. But I was just so proud the pull-outs actually worked!

That's quite a clever card Lady Sage. You certainly don't joke around with them.

That's awesome, Sage! I love handmade cards...they are so much more meaningful (and usually better looking) than store bought cards. Any tips for a novice? I've made cards myself, but tend to stick to stencils, stamps, and the like.

I love receiving handmade cards! And that one is not only cleverly arranged Sage (and I think putting the Happy (BeLATEd) Birthday this way will be better arranged, although I love this one) but, I love the use of your palete and your textures. Very nice. My cards are printed from my original artwork, but I love arranging them into gift baskets.

I really like the imaginative way you brought your sister-in-law into the card experience by requiring her to pull the tabs. Thoughtful, creative and very well made

Well I hope you learned your lesson. If you just send a nice Halmark on time next year, you won't have to go though all that extra effort.

KIDDIN'! Great work. You really took that card to a higher level.
