A portrait of my love again. It's pathetic, but he's my favourite subject.

I did this up a while ago, and I thought I'd post it, even though it's very imperfect.

This could be better, I'm well aware of this. I was very sleepy and accidentally closed the Illustrator window I was working in without saving. Luckily, I had copied the piece into photoshop a short while before the accident.

And so, on his birthday I post!

I feel like I know him, just by looking at your artwork. I'm not what you'd call an art expert, so the meanings that come through to me must be a lot deeper for those of you that have a trained eye. Personally, I don't see how it could be better. I love the curve at the edge of his glasses, the light refracting because of the angle. My feeling from this picture is that he had something mischevious planned, and was slightly amused that others can't read his mind to figure out his plans. There's some shyness in the mouth, I think. Almost like he's a bit embarassed to be the focus of attention. You have a true gift, cellophanedeity. And so does he, methinks.

Mojo, I missed a couple of blocks of colour in the lips, and so they're a bit messier than I had wanted (I still wanted them to be blocky, but not unfinished) And you got the mood pretty much perfectly.

I took this picture with Simon looking up at me (I rotated the picture) when he was slyly trying to do naughty things to me.

I'm glad you like it!

Technically, I understand, but it's the imperfections that make it what it is...a charming great piece.
