Photos: Questions for the Ladies - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Hi Ladies!

Uhm... Ok... This is something I've been waiting to ask the ladies of the board. I'm not exactly sure how to put it, but I am hoping that some will understand me. I wasn't sure of a title so I apologize for that.

No, this doesn't belong in the How to forum due to the nature of my little question being of the not safe for work nature.

My SO and I have been exploring the photo world, and I have found myself to like doing it. I would love to post them, but I am a tad nervous about doing it. My SO has no problem with them being posted as long as I am comfortable with it.

So, ladies, I would like to know, how did you over come your fear (if you had one) to post or show nude photos of yourself?

Did you just do it and let out a breath of relief? Or did you have someone else do it for you? How did you bring yourself to do it? Where can you host those type of photos without them being removed because of the nature of them?

To some, this may seem very silly, but I would really appreciate hearing from those who have posted. Whether it was here or else where. I do apologize if this has been discussed previously or if I'm in the wrong forum. My searching tends to not go the route of information that I'm looking for.

And if you have any tips on types of photos to do, please share them!

I would love to hear your suggestions!

I had a mentor-friend teaching me how to photograph myself, how to pose, how to get comfortable with my shortcomings and to be natural in my look. The camera can reflect more than a posed person-it can reflect emotion as well- pictures taken when I was very sick showed how I was feeling(some of my best work though).
I would suggest actually going through all the EX threads the women have done and see what makes you comfortable to look at. Chances are good that you will feel the same about yourself, at least to a degree. Go with your gut. If something makes you think, "I could never do THAT", don't force yourself to. At least at first. It's a good idea to at least step up to the line you won't cross. Soon, you will find the line has moved. And no one here is going to be a jerk about it. We understand how huge a step it is, appreciate that fact and applaud those that try.
Nervous about it? No, I have had a site of my best work for a couple of years, this was the next step, although showing unedited pix was, at first, a bit daunting for me. (My friend's support helped though) I do have my own 'standards'(guess that's what you'd call them) about what I will or will not post, but it's not out of prudishness or anything.
Personally, I go toward the more artsy side rather than the 'just lying there butt-nekkid for no reason'. I like techniques of light and angles, of props and the flow of cloth.
Little tricks to make you look even MORE beautiful than you are: Lying down, face up into the shot-smooths the face. Posture-for me it's almost a workout!!! Butt tight, stomach in, legs flexed. If you are flexible, even better. Paq has had some great pictures showing flexibility. Pose on tables, on chairs, in corners. Dance, spin, get silly. When you enjoy what you're doing, it shows in the artistry.
Last hint: go easy on the make-up. Don't wear more than you normally do, if any. Look forward to seeing what you do!!!

It really comes down to trust and self confidence. You have to trust that you're pictures will be received in a respectful manner, which we assure you they will, and have the self confidence to psot them. It's interesting really, you post them the first time with some anxiety, but the results ultimately boost your confidence and lead you to often post more.

As for hosting the pictures, you can attach them in the thread under the "advanced reply" screen, and only those with access to that thread will ever see them. There's a sticky about it in Exhibition.

I may post some older pics I have. Very recently, I had my hair cut, colored (to remove older color that hadn't grown out) and highlights. I am very happy with the result and we're currently taking some new pics, but I only have two of those atm and they're still on the camera!

Unfortunately, some of my shots are actually head shots...

So, I'm not sure how well that will go.

Ladies, I thank you for your time of the responses. I truly appreciate it and shall be picking thru my small amount and then posting them.

For me, it was a "just decide to do it, take a deep breath of relief thing". My SO and I just posted sets of me on ex for the first time. I was extremely nervous, but the feedback from this community is great. I would say go for it. There's nothing to be worried about, really. After I finally decided to post myself, it was a great experience.

Yeah, I did my first ex post recently, and it gave me a little thrill at first. I wasn't nervous about showing my body to TFP'ers, but I was scared about the picture being distributed elsewhere on the web. I did my best to make it as anonymous as possible, even though there's no 100% guarantee (more like 75%, I bet) that people won't spread it around. You take your chances, I guess.

You also have to ask yourself if you will be okay with a lot of men making the same kind of comments they make on the Titty Board... it can be flattering, but it is a different kind of feedback if you are not used to it.

Otherwise, if you're all cool with that stuff, GO FOR IT!!!

You only live once.

teehee I have been looking forward to doing this for a long time. But, being the nervous type, I have never managed to bring myself to it.

Comments don't bother me. I've had a couple of ppl compliment me. But, they're close friends and make me do the "Well, they're only saying it cause they don't want to hurt me" deal.

I've just been looking for new ways to have fun and at least try new things before I get too old to try them. I've been reading the stickys in the Ex and TB boards about watermarking and such.

My only worries now is that someone I was talking to about the board (ie family member) might get access one day and see me.

You are braver then me. I have often thought about posting pictures in Exhibition and I have them on my computer right now, I just can't work up the courage to do it yet. I wish you luck and maybe in the next few months I'll be ready too.

just go for it, if you dont like the idea, take them down. just remember, watermarks are your friends!

I was somewhat shy about it the first time. Hubby posted the one pic for me and told me he could remove it if I felt uncomfortable about it later. Then I started reading the comments. They weren't leud, but they were appreciative and pleasant. The flattery did wonders to bring me out of my shell. We haven't taken pictures in ages but this past year has been filled with surgeries and a broken foot so what with the cuts and bruises I haven't been showing off much. I'm working hard now to get myself back together and healing faster all the time. I'm hoping to take some new pictures with hubby soon.
