Leg Warmers are back in fashion?
They were such a glamour don't when they were in fashion the first go around.... but back then if you were gonna wear them.. it was over straight leg jeans... and scrunched down...

Depends on the trousers and the legwarmers, and somewhat on the shoes. I think legwarmers only look good over really tight trousers, if the legwarmers are very fluffy they can go over normal trousers. I usually wear them under the trousers, but then again I wear them more for actual warmth than for style.

I agree with mal's opinion...so...how to wear legwarmers? Don't...
No, if you want to wear them, they definitely go over the jeans. But as others have said they have to be TIGHT jeans. /me remembers her tight jeans from the 80s where her mom had to pull them off...ugh Anyway, they may look cute with a funky skirt and some bright colored tights. Hey, if you're going to wear legwarmers at least look like you're having fun! I'd go for the punk thing...funky plaid skirt, bright colored tights, clunky mary-janes, and a tattered top with plastic bracelets up the arm. Oooo, dressing up is fun!

I'm with Mal...leg warmers were barely tolerable the first time around!
Lindalove, nothing personal because you're evidently just following fashion trends (a normal sort of thing to do) but I have to wonder why it is that the 20-somethings are reviving the absolute worst of the 80's? It's the same with music - when I go into a store and hear the same godawful pop tunes that caused me to stop listening to the radio altogether during that time period, I try to keep my mouth shut but inside I'm wondering "WHY?" There actually was interesting music being made in the 80's but you'll never hear it. Trends are a mysterious thing indeed. Next thing you know all clothing will be made with linebacker shoulder pads and hairspray sales will skyrocket. |

Yup the legwarmers are coming back, so are the tapered leg jeans. My teenage neighbor girl was talking about wanting some. I told her that I still had some from highschool. She was in complete amazement and asked how I ever found them. It's not like I couldn't have bought bell bottoms in highschool - they didn't exist. Oh and the fashion trend that I absolutely despised - Ripped up jeans. They are selling pre-ripped jeans again. I can take a $10 pair of jeans from the thrift store, go help my Dad roof for one day and sell them to you for $50 and it be cheaper than a pair that will look almost identical in the store for more.
Had to rant - wierd how some fashions that should be extinct, permanantly, seem to come back. I didn't wear ripped jeans back then - what makes them so cool now? Or is "cool" not the word for it anymore?

It is strange how fashions come back- I think we just can't come up with anything new anymore.
I am glad that the baby-tee seems to be going out though. Too many girls wearing them who shouldn't have been.

Nonononononononononononono! Not leg warmers! Ack! I burned mine when we ceremonially disposed all of my neon belongings, plastic jewelry, keds, mismatched socks and pegged and rolled jeans. Please tell me that's not all coming "back". Lord help us all. My hips can't take tight jeans... well, y'all wouldn't be able to handle my hips in tight jeans, they'd actually be suffocating.
/me curls up fetally and mumbles, "it can't be! not the 80's!"

I used to wear leg warmers under my jeans, pulled all the way up my legs, when I lived in the mountains without heat. I thought it was a neat idea for keeping your legs warm but I always had to wear tights under them so they wouldn't slide down. Now I just wear long johns if I get cold in the winter.

I just saw a woman today wearing these purple leopardskin-print things on the lower half of her legs. They weren't scrunchy leg warmers, they were more like loose flappy leg sheaths that hung down. They weren't like sock-type material, and there was a bunch of extra material...I have no idea how they stayed up.
