New vibe!!

Hi ladies, just thought it might be fun to post about our vibes... :D

I already own wayyy too many, but unfortunately I left them all at ktspktsp's house when I came home for 10 days. I couldn't handle it... and my 10 fingers just aren't doing the trick... (I've been spoiled by those vibes!). So I headed to Toys in Babeland here in Seattle for a quick fix and picked up this little baby... has anyone tried it? I'm hoping it's quiet enough that I can take it into the bush this summer (the AFRICAN bush, that is).

xxSquirtxx 05-25-2005 07:18 PM

I don't have one like that, but it looks fun. :)

snowy 05-25-2005 07:25 PM

Oooh, very nice, abaya. Yes, having something like that in Africa would be handy. Make sure and take plenty of batteries...and use it sparingly. RATION YOURSELF!!! :D Remember to take the batteries out between uses as when left in they can cause your toy to corrode :( Sad but true.

Supple Cow 05-25-2005 07:39 PM

That one looks GREAT. I just bought a new one though... I don't really need another. Yet.

cellophanedeity 05-25-2005 07:41 PM

I'm onto my third toy. My first two died, but the first one I bought still makes an excellent (but solid) dildo.

http://www.goodforher.com/osc/catalo...roducts_id=122
This is the one I have now. I love love love it.

http://www.goodforher.com/osc/catalo...roducts_id=179
This one broke on me after four months of almost nightly use. (Purple, and also much cheaper than this one...)

http://www.goodforher.com/osc/catalo...roducts_id=180
And this one died after a week, and I bought it at Not Good For Her, so no in store replacement. -_-

Oh, and Toronto ladies, this is the best sex shop in the world. They make you tea and are really friendly and wonderful.

cellophanedeity 05-25-2005 07:42 PM

Oh, and Supple, you always need a new one! :D

Lead543 05-25-2005 07:56 PM

I know what I want for Christmas...

abaya 05-25-2005 08:49 PM

^ Funny, Lead, I got one of my best friends a nice vibe for Christmas!! :) (That's when you KNOW you're good friends.) :D

I also have a nice metallic g-spot vibe which I love, esp. in combination with an egg vibe... mmmmmmmmmmm so good (those are the ones I left at ktspktsp's!!) :( Here's the metal one, it warms up to body temperature quickly and feels oh-so-good...

http://www.babeland.com/page/TIB/PRO...-spot/DG270895

Btw, has anyone tried the Fukuoku? We got one at Good Vibrations when we visited SF, but haven't used it much. The watch batteries make it kinda weak...

/heads to shower w/new waterproof "blueberry" :D

EDIT: Cello, thanks for the referral to a new female-owned shop!! Always glad to hear of another...

*Nikki* 05-26-2005 08:20 AM

Just make sure it doesn't start vibrating in your suitcase!:)

abaya 05-26-2005 10:12 AM

^ I was wondering about that! I'll take the batteries out for sure, though I wouldn't be surprised if they saw the motor on the X-ray and wondered if it was a bomb...

So I didn't even have to get in the shower... that thing was sooooo great. It helps that I haven't gotten any in a while, so the tension was already high. The bumps and tip make it very good for rolling from clit to vagina. I liked it so much that I had to used it again a few hours later!! :D I recommend it as a good, cheap vibe!

Lucky Girl 05-26-2005 01:32 PM

Could you recommend a good one for a first timer (I have used one before just never bought one) Thanks

abaya 05-26-2005 10:37 PM

Sure, Lucky Girl!! The one that I am going off about on this thread (in the original post) would probably be a good beginner one... it's not too big, but big enough that you can play with it both on your clit and in your vagina to see what you like. It was $18, about the running price for a starter vibe, though you can get smaller ones for cheaper ($10 is about the minimum).

You may just want a "slimline" vibe though, one that is smooth, to start with... take a browse around some of the women-owned sex shop websites to see what you might like. You can order right off the web and they'll usually send it in plain wrapping. If you live anywhere near Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, or Boston, all of those cities have really good women-owned sex shops where you can go in, handle the vibes (on display), turn them on, and see if you like the feel of them before buying a new one. Most male-owned shops don't allow you to do that... they just have the vibes in plastic packages on the wall, so they are more hit-and-miss for the ladies.

Here are my two favorite sites to get you started:

www.goodvibes.com
www.babeland.com

Have fun and let us know how it goes!!

One can ALWAYS use another vibe... ;) Actually Supple Cow, can you tell us about the new vibe that you got? I'm always interested in customer reviews... :D (hence this thread).

Gilda 05-26-2005 11:23 PM

I love my Hitachi Magic Wand for self gratification. When using one on a partner, a contoured one like Abaya's new one is very nice.

I'm also fond of a rabbit for hands-free stimulation.

Supple Cow 05-27-2005 07:21 AM

Okay, this is the one I just got (the silver one): http://www.babeland.com/page/TIB/PRO...rated/DL010250

The first vibe I ever had was this type, but it was called Southern Lights because it had a light bulb inside at the tip and would shine as brightly as you had the adjustable power on (translucent hot pink shell, no less). It was a good starter for me and made losing my virginity a snap. I started out just using it on the outside and slowly it made its way in. Ever since then I've been a fan of the hard plastic variety. This preference was confirmed when I tried out Nubby-G (http://www.babeland.com/page/TIB/PRO...-spot/DG215790), which just didn't conduct vibration well enough for me. It was, however, good to have stuffed in there (very penis like in that sense) while I used a hard plastic fella on the outside. Then again, I don't like to have to double-team myself for my everyday business. Too much hassle.

My favorite so far is the Mermaid (http://www.babeland.com/page/TIB/PRO...-mini/DH250500). YUMMIEST. VIBE. EVER. It's small so it's good for travelling and it's also waterproof. The only thing is that I am super good at breaking them (I've gone through 3 in the last couple of years). I dropped the first one in the shower in my excitement and it cracked. Then I handled the second and third too roughly (if you twist too hard when you're turning it on, you can crack the plastic and it eventually won't screw on tightly enough for the battery to be activated). So, this one's kind of delicate in that way, but I had the best orgasms from this one. I'm thinking of getting a fourth just because I'm so used to it that the silver bullet is kind of disappointing at times.

A good alternative might be Pretty N Pink (http://www.babeland.com/page/TIB/PRO...-mini/DH215900), so I may go with that one. It's variable speed, unlike my beloved Mermaid, and it's also a keychain! :)

abaya 05-27-2005 10:33 AM

Supple Cow, I'm glad to hear more about the Mermaid... I've seen it everywhere, but most people haven't said much about it. Is it very quiet? My new blueberry thingy is cool, but not that quiet... so I might just have to spring for that Mermaid if it comes so highly recommended from you! :) It does seem nice and small for traveling.

Pretty N Pink looks okay, though I've always wondered why they made vibes to work on keychains... sure, it's handy, but if anyone sees your keys and asks, would you just say, "Oh, it's my vibe," and leave it at that? I'd rather keep one in my purse. :) There's actually one that's shaped like a lipstick tube, so that would be cool to keep incognito.

I know what you mean about double-teaming... I might have to look into what Gilda said about the rabbit. Gilda, do you have the Rabbit Habit or the Rabbit Pearl? I've been thinking one with an unattached "rabbit" might be better, so it could be moved around, but then that's not really hands-free.

It's a novelty - i've had one for years that is my keyring.. I'm not even sure it works anymore... I've never used it as such... It just gives me amusement to go thru airline security, and occassionally it catches the eye of theperson scanning bags and will ask if it's pepper spray... It's actually kinda quite funny to see my uptight self say with acomplete straight face.. .No sir, that would be my vibrator...

StickODynomite 05-27-2005 04:46 PM

I know someone mentioned this one
http://www.goodforher.com/osc/catal...products_id=122

I have it in blue and i hate it. When I go to pull it out it just feels like there's suction or something.. like it's resisting. Every gal is different..i sure do wish I loved it though, it'd make my life that much easier ! I think a simple hard plastic smooth toy would be best for me. Anyway, as it is im a bit scared to try something new w/ the bad experiences so far.

Lucky Girl 05-27-2005 06:17 PM

Thanks for the advice! I have a couple in mind that I might like. My guy is helping me decide which one to buy. Again thanks for the advice!! You gals are the best!!

My favorite is The Jack Rabbit Impulse. That one's pretty expensive, though. The two you mention are only different in how they're controlled; the vibe itself is the same.

Well, it isn't the quietest thing in the world, but I've definitely heard louder. I just think it's a simple and convenient vibe for daily use. Gets the job done and fits in my purse. They come in purple, too. :)

cellophanedeity 05-28-2005 07:09 AM

So has anyone ever had a vibe that really is quiet?

zombie_sympathi 05-28-2005 08:00 AM

I have the Buzzin Bunny (http://www.babeland.com/page/TIB/PRO...ction/DH040060). However, I have to say my favorite is my Silver Bullet (http://www.babeland.com/page/TIB/PRO...-mini/DL010240) because it can be used during intercourse and it's more powerful than the Bunny.

So Abaya, I thought yours was so pretty I went out and bought the same Blueberry Buzz for myself this afternoon!

Oh my poor wallet.

abaya 05-29-2005 09:36 PM
