Deo sticks that don't discolor?

Up until now I've used Helena Rubinstein's Anti-Perspirant Stick Deodorant in order to block sweat during the day.

Unfortunately I found out too late that not only is this stuff discolouring my shirts but the area where the cloth got in contact with this deo stick has started to smell terribly as well!

can anyone recommen a brand that doesn't discolor/make the cloth stink?

EDIT:
- I prefer recommendations of Stick Deodorants since they seem to block sweat nearly 100%.

- I don't mind switching to roll on's as long as they're capable of blocking sweat

- I'd prefer what ever product you recommend to be unscented because I don't want to generate perfume allergy!

Helena Rubenstein I'm not sure I've ever seen in the US... It seems that every brand sold in drugstores these days has a clear antipersp/deoderent. Secret is the brand that I prefer -though it's gotten harder to find the clear solids, the clear gels seem to be more easily available. The gels I don't like because -- well, I'm cheap - and there seems to be a lot of waste with the gels.

I've never noticed an odor on clothes from using a deoderent, and with the clear stuff, you don't get the telltale white marks on black and dark colored clothes.

with Stick Deodorant it's apparently a whole other matter! My old Deo stick, Chloe, discolored my clothes as well!!

Is it the fragrance in it that's causing the discoloration? Can you use an unscented deoderent?

I use right guard gel......its cheaper if Dave and I use the same deo and I dont see the point in buying stuff just to be "powder fresh" or whatever other silly name they have for scents on womens deo.

I never have any problems at all with what we use

Chloe is scented but Helena Rubinstein's Anti-Perspirant Stick Deodorant is unscented and they both discolor clothes so I'm not sure what's causing the discloring.

I use Secret, too. Sometimes I see the white stuff but it's not usually too bad. And I never have smelled anything after washing it.

I read something just last week that said if you put vinegar on the deodorant marks before you wash the shirt it's supposed to come clean. I tried it on one of my husbands shirts, but the marks had already been there for awhile and it didn't work. So I suppose you have to put it on right away.

I use Mitchum clear gel. I don't agree that gels are wasteful-one small container lasts me about 3 months or so. None of my clothes are discolored-I also don't dry my clothes to full dryness-preferring to hang them damp. I'm thinking, perhaps the drying of your blouses in a too hot dryer is 'cooking' the deodorant right in?

I use Dove stick deodorant/anti-perspirant and I haven't noticed any discoloration on my clothing. I really like the Dove because it's very gentle on my skin and does the job well.

I never use a dryer. IMO it's a complete waist of electricity (=pollution) when I can just let it dry out in the open air.

How does Mitchum clear gel smell like btw?

oooooooooooooooohhh Dove...I'd completely forgotten about that. I know it's suppose to be very gently on skin so maybe I should try that. How does it smell btw?

....and, regarding the thread, I don't have much to recommend...
I use Secret Platinum, and I don't think it does any harm to my shirts, but honestly I've not paid that close attention .. (not sure if secret's avail in Denmark, it's not in Germany).

I'd look into the Dove, if I had to use a Deo that I could get in a store in Germany that's probably what I'd try.

I really like the Dove Fresh scent. It's not too overpowering, it's not powdery, it's not super-femmy...and I got lots of compliments from my partner on the way it smells--he loves it.

There are several scents, including unscented-none overpowering-all work fantastic and there is NO white residue at all(nothing worse then seeing those white clumps under ones arms.ewww!!!!)

Then it must work just fine. Had it made your stink shirt og discolored it like Helena Rubenstein then you would've noticed - believe me!

I'm pretty sure we don't have Mitchum clear gel in Denmark but I'll find out. I guess I could always make my dad buy some for me when he's on his business trips if it turns out that it is unavailable here

Hey ngdawg!

It turns out that they did have the Mitchum clear gel in the MATAS stores! Does the clear gel come with different scents?

The one I bought smells like cheap men's sports cologne but I thought I might as well buy it since it didn't cost very much. And I'm so happy I did!! The cheap cologne smell goes away after wearing it for a while and now I smell *sniff sniff*.. absolutely 100% natural. HURRAAAAAAAAAAA!

The best part is that after one of my tight shirts were discolored I couldn't wear it even if I didn't put on the Helena Rubinstein's Anti-Perspirant Stick Deodorant. For some weird reason I would start smelling like ass in my armpits after wearing it for a couple of hours which made me so mad and frustrated because it's not funny smelling like ass I tell ya and I feared that I had to throw my shirt out for good.

However I'm using Mitchum today and put on one my favourite shirts (the one that started smelling like ass after a few hours) and I smell great! I've been wearing the shirt since 6 O'clock this morning so and still no ass smell! WHEEEE!

Thanks so much for the tip!! Now I can start wearing my favourite shirts again. I can't tell you how happy I am!!!!!!!!!!

secret platinum (clear gel). it smells great, and i never sweat! just to make sure that your clothes don't get discolored, try putting on the deoderant without the shirt on and let it air dry. always better to err on the side of caution.
