Dumb question, but...
...I was wondering if Planned Parenthood does Pap Smears and the typical "womanly checkup" stuff. Hmmmm...
|
When you got your last birth control prescription,, did they do one?
Edited, because I'm wrong... Check out www.plannedparenthood.org FOr your location -- some california locations do cancer screenings - -but it doesn't look like all of them have the resources to do that. (and I'm not sure where in Cali you are. |
Since you are a fulltime student, and under age 23, you are probably covered under your parents insurance.
I believe the laws were changed in recent years, that women are allowed 1 yearly "well woman" checkup with a gynocologist, without a referral, and that it is a covered check up. |
I thought they all did. Probably because most of my friends go to the Planned Parenthood facility here and get their annual pap smear/check up every year. They also do a breast exam.
I also thought it was required to have an exam before they would issue you any birth control pills. But again, I may be wrong. |
ahem -- ladies -- you may be young - buy you should be doing breast exams MONTHLY!!!!
Don't rely on the doctor -- it's something that you should be doing yourself - in addition to the doctor. |
planned parenthood use to require a pap to get birth control but a couple of years they stopped requiring it your first year, however it's a good idea and all you have to do is call and ask

Ok so I just accidently posted that previous post under NatureBoy's account! I forgot I was using his computer not mine, I tried to delete it but I couldn't. Hope the moderators don't get mad at him for posting in the ladies lounge because it was my fault.

Yes, planned Parenthood covers all that for you.
