feminine problems
I seem to be having a lot of feminine problems lately. I have had this pain in my abdomen for about a week now, similar to cramps but not as bad, but it’s not time for my period for another 2 weeks or so and it’s causing me some concern. When I do have my period it comes along with at least two days of bad cramps, and my schedule has been really messed up. At least twice my period has started a week and a half to two weeks early. It seems to happen after fooling around with my boyfriend, I often get bad cramps and my period starts a few hours later. Could this be due to too much aggression or simply a coincidence? We haven’t done anything I can think of that would have resulted in this week of pain though…and I’m also a virgin if that helps. I’m going into see a doctor for an exam to get on the pill within the next month or two, and plan to ask about it then. I was wondering if in the mean time any of you have any idea what might be happening? I’m starting to worry it might be something serious.

really painful periods can be a sign of endrometriosis - ( there's a link posted in one of the threads in this forum)
Putting on my, overprotective I'm not a mom, I just pretend to be one hat. It could be a lot of things, but when you go to the doctor be sure to mention irregular periods (which is sounds like you have) and the painfulness -- (and..... I know from personal experience -- if they don't take you seriously and tell you to just take advil - find another doctor -- Before you get undressed and stirruped, you want to have a talk with teh doctor and mention these symptoms (we tend to get a little forgetful when we're nekkid and vulnerable) Birth control pills should make your cycle more regular.

I read somewhere that mild cramps can accompany ovulation (which generally happens halfway through the cycle). Depending on how close you are to starting your period, sometimes fooling around will induce it. That's speaking from personal experience.
Good idea to go to the doctor. And good luck.

I agree with maleficent could be endometriosis. Often it's simply treated with birth control. It probably wouldn't hurt to call your Dr. and let them know the symptoms you are having. They may want to see you sooner than your appointment date. I don't know how "serious" they consider endometriosis. But it does need to be treated so do talk to your Dr.
I don't want to scare you though. It could just be that you are young and your hormones are still a little wacky. But it's always good to talk to your Dr. just in case |

thanks a lot everyone. It seems to be getting better now other than the occasional pain, which is still a little unsettling. I'm going for my appointment in about a week (AAAAHHHHH!!! first time) and hopefully it will all be fine. It was nice to know that some of the stuff i'm experiencing was normal like what SparklingDot said. And i'm glad that some of the problems will go away with the pill. I'll let you know how it goes
