Baby Shower Games (?!?)
Hi everybody. :)
I was asked to do a game for my sister-in-law's baby shower this weekend. Does anyone know of a fun game that they've done or had done for them that I could do? Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions. :D Please help! |
google it baby, i'd think it through, but i'm a lil tipsy right now /me *blushes*
|
I did... Hehe, that's cute.
I just thought someone here might know of a fun one that they'd done before. I think I have one, but am still open to suggestions. :) |
I come from a HUGE Catholic family so have several. Here are a couple:
Everyone is given a safety pin when they walk in the door. Whenever you here someone say "baby" they have to give you there pins. The person at the end of the shower who has the most pins, wins. Take a ball of yarn. Draw out a straight piece that you think will measure around the pregnant party. After everyone has their piece of yarn (or string) measure. Closest wins. Take two balloons and put it between two participants legs. They need to hope down to laundry baskets and "deliver" the balloon into the basket. Fastest wins, play elmination rounds until you come up with a winner. Write down mom and dad's name at the top of a paper. Have everyone create as many names as they can from the letters in the parents names. Winner has the most names listed. Fill a tray with baby items. Show it to everyone. Remove tray. Whoever can remember the most items, wins. Hope this helps -- good luck. |
Buy a bunch of babyfood jars. Number the bottoms, write down the foods and number them according to the numbers on the jars, then take off the labels. Pass them around to everyone and whoever can identify the most foods just by color, and appearance wins. Then you can give the list and jars to the mother. Don't open them or they won't keep long enough.
Also play a bingo game. Make a square of about 16 squares. Read off a list of baby items and have everyone write them in the squares anywhere they want, any order. Everytime mom opens a present people can put an X in the square with that item. Whoever gets their X's in a row first wins. |
GAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
*runs screaming from the pastel madness* |
I know a few more.
1) You need: small safety pins, raw rice, a bowl and a blindfold. (The safety pins should weigh and feel about the same as the rice.) Throw 25 or so of the pins into a bowl of rice and blindfold the player. Give them a set amount of time (usually 1-3 min) to pick as many saftey pins out of the rice as possible. The person who finds the most wins. 2) You need: cotton balls, a big flat baking pan or tupperware, a ladle and a blindfold. Use enough cotton balls as will cover about 1/3 to 1/2 of the bottom of the container and blindfold the player. Give them a fixed amount of time (again 1-3 min) to scoop out as many as possible with the ladle. The player with the most cotton balls wins. 3) You need: string/clothesline, and many clothespins. Clip ALL of the clothespins on the line (you'll need at least 30). One by one, player takes the pins off the line and must keep all the pins in her hands. Once you drop one, your turn is done. You can't hold them against your body to carry more - only your hands are allowed - but you can use your body to adjust where they are in your hands. The player with the most pins takes the prize. Have fun! |

Thank you to all who have taken the time to tell me about their games. I really appreciate the effort, and the help.
You guys ----> :icare: <----- Me |
Let us know how it goes. Especially if you use a game not mentioned here. Would love to have more ideas stashed away. At the rate my brother and his wife are going I wouldn't be surprised if there were more on the way. :p

Okay, I threw my sister a shower a year ago. We had a riot.
The best game was the diaper smelling game. Get a bunch of clean diapers, and smear the insides with smelly things- shampoo, mustard, horseradish, jelly, cleaners- anything that has a definitive smell. You pass the dirty diapers around the table and each person has to guess what is in it. The person with the most correct guesses wins. The best part is seeing a bunch of grown women smell "used" diapers. Another game is just for a door prize. As the guests walk in, give them each a napkin wrapped around some small candies tied with a ribbon. For one of the napkins, put some chocolate in it and melt it in the microwave before tossing it with the rest of the napkins- that is the dirty diaper. The person who at the end of the party opens their napkins to find the dirty diaper wins a door prize. Unfortunatley, I cannot remember the rest of the games. |
Oh, Ruby! I've heard of that smelly diaper one! That sounded gross to me. :)
raeanna74 - I will. Thanks again to all. |
