Paloma by Palmoma Picasso.
Been my fave for years. |
My favourite is Dolly Girl - Anna Sui, but I have just got a really nice one from the Avon - Far Away Sensual Embrace. :)
|
I like the new one by Escada that smells like a tropical drink, it comes in a multi-colored blue and pink bottle, I forgot the exact name of it.
I also like Romance by Ralph Lauren and Still by JLo |
I am allergic to most perfumes and some flowers. I can use fruit-based scents and that's it. In deference to my fellow-sufferers, please, ladies (and gents!!), don't 'marinate'!!! I really wish I could try some of these scents :(
|
I don't wear scents very often. When I do, I really enjoy Ralph Lauren's Safari. Very nice.

It never fails that somewhere I go it gets commented on everytime by someone wanting to know where they can get it because it smells so good. As far as Realm goes...I dont like the way the version for females smells but the one for men drives me absolutely BANANAS. When my b/f wants to make darn sure I'm "in the mood" he knows all he has to do is put some on and hold tight for the ride!! I've never experienced anything like it...and its the ONLY pheremone scent that affects me. |
perfume
my fave is l'occitaine lavender. my aunt got me a bottle of this amazing french lavender perfume. unfortunatly, i broke it. l'occitaine is the only one that i've been able to find that even comes close to smelling as good. i also love crabtree and evelyn's rose line. i'm really into basic floral sents, but looking for a new one. any suggestions? i don't like bath and bodyworks or victoria's secret (both too sweet) or clinque happy (it gives me a headache). other than that, though, let me know!
|
I like to smell yummy, with a hint of floral. I highly recommend all of these to smell scrumptious.
Calyx -- by Prescriptives Addict -- by Christian Dior Dream -- by Gap Simply White -- by Gap (smells just like honeysuckle) |
I'm afraid that my list of perfumes is rather lengthy...I find that smelling like one thing for too many days in a row, gets boring over time. So I like to shake things up and wear a different scent practically every day... It also takes much longer to run out of one particular scent if you alternate them. And its not like I bought all of these at once, I got them over a loong period of time...
~Candies ~Lucky You (bottle almost empty:() ~Mambo (go for the body spray instead of the actual perfume) ~Dolce and Gabanna, Light Blue ~Clinique Happy (new, and currently addicted to) ~OP Juice (very sweet) ~Curve ~Kenneth Cole, New York ~Estee Lauder, Pleasures (best worn at night, for more "fancy occasions) ~CK One ~LiLu (got it at PacSun, and LOVE it, but also almost empty...) ~Gap Blue ~Gap Pink ~Gap Dream ~Gap Heaven ~Calgon, Hawaiian Ginger (very cheap, think Wal-Mart, very strong scent that fades and lasts all day) ~Casual ~Kasmir (very old, and hard to find, but one of the most unique, sweet scents that I've ever worn) ~I also used to wear "Love" from Bath and Body works almost every day when I was dating this one guy, but I found that wearing it after we broke up just wasn't the same and brought back sad memories, so I gave it to a friend... ...along with many other random Bath and Body Works body sprays that I love:D |
In my suitcase this week, I threw in my bottle of Pleasures, by Estee Lauder.
I have never gotten so many compliments on a fragrance in I can't remember when, and oddly, they've come mainly from women. I love the scent, it's nice and lite. |
The most compliments I ever received was when I wore Realm for Women. I think it has to do with the synthetic pheromones used in it and the way it reacts to your body's chemicals. I'm a dorkass but still had men stop me and tell me how good I smelled. Sadly, I'm out of it.
My other favs are: Narcisse by Chloe Ysatis Amber Romance by Victoria Secret (I also get lots of compliments on this, from men and women). Beautiful by Estee Lauder Tresor by Lancome Warm Vanilla Sugar from Bath and Body Works (I think that's the name of it anyway) |
My favorite has been ANGEL for years, but recently started to wear ESCADA 2004 (the pink and blue bottle, they change every season).
|
Ok, time to revive this. I am a perfume junkie, and I need a new scent. I love floral smell perfume for the most part...my current favorite is Vera Wang. I also like Jessica McClintock, Very Irresistable by Givenchy, and Lucky You. Any suggestions? I hate going to a perfume counter and just trying a bunch because after 4-5 the smells all blend together.
|
Try Estee Lauder's Beautiful or Pleasures (It's not your grandma's Estee Lauder - both are lite, beautiful scents)
I also like the Anna Sui line-- Sui Dreams - comes ina purse like bottle that's very pretty - and regular Anna Sui has a powdery floral base that I also like |
I've worn Romance by Ralph Lauren for over a year and before that I wore Ralph by Ralph Lauren for 2 years. I've gotten a lot of compliments on both, one squirt is enough for the day.
I wanna try the "make your own scent" thing from The Body Shop, it looks neat |
The perfume I really want to get my hands on is Lulu Guinness. It's got a spicy yet floral scent I really enjoy, with notes of jasmine, sandalwood, and rose. It's not cloying, either.
One perfume I used to wear that I got lots of compliments on was Chloe Narcisse. My favorite perfume (though technically a body spray, it's strong enough to be a perfume) is a blend of ylang-ylang and myrrh I got from Bath and Body Works (unfortunately they replaced it with something awful). No one ever told me I smelled pretty when I wore it; no, they told me I smelled sexy. Given my personality, sexy is better ;) |
I really like anything that says white musk...it's so sensual.
I have worn Clinique Happy but I felt it was too energetic for me. I have also worn Gaultier Classic but it's too sweet. I reeeally like CKBe, but on men. So, I need to take your list of suggestions and find me a new perfume! I don't like floral perfume, for example I HATE Anais Anais from Cacharel. Spicy, musky, and slightly sweet with a little tang is my kind of smell. Any ideas girls? |
I like floral perfumes but have never ever liked Anais Anais - theres an undertone in there that i don't like at all...
Have you tried Opium? It's been around forever - but I still like it... It's got a really nice Spicey scent... |
I found 4 or 5 that I wear all the time, depending on the season and the occasion.
Red Door - Elizabeth Arden Coco - Chanel Chanel No 5 - Chanel Beautiful - Estee Lauder Ysatis - cannot remember Another old favorite is Paloma by Paloma Picasso. |
I wear solid perfumes, not many people have heard of it, but it's amazing! It comes in a little heartshaped tin:
http://home.comcast.net/~ashleyandburt/belle.jpg it's Ingredients: Olive oil, almond oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, beeswax, vitamin E, fragrance I like Belle Fleur... wear it all the time :) The best thing about solid perfume is that they can mix allot of smells into one little tin, for instance Belle Fleur has: gardenia, jasmine, lilac, ylang, ylang Tahitian tiare. I rub a little on my neck (and other places) ;) And the BEST part is that the scent lasts all day. plus it's organic, very good for your skin and not very expensive, $4 for a tin. If you haven't tried it, i suggest you do, they have a listing of scents on their website. http://www.soapworksstudio.com/bath.html sweetpea |
Thanks for posting that link, sweetpea!! I've been looking for reasonably priced handmade soap for quite some time; this looks like it could be the place I was looking for! Have you tried any of it?
|
Quote:
The soap? no i haven't... but i will say that i'm very impressed with the quality of the perfumes i've bought from them, so i assume their soap would be of similar calibur. Lemme know when you try it, then maybe i'll buy some to! :) sweetpea |
Great link, sweetpea. I'll have to order some when I have more discretionary funds. I think I want to try all three! I too like solid perfumes, but they can be rather hard to find sometimes.

L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci (originally worn by my mother when I was very little)
Diluted rose oil Pink Sugar by Aquolina Beautiful by Estee Lauder Skin Musk by Bonne Bell (wore this in grade school and it's one of my comfort smells) I love anything that makes me feel womanly, sexy, and sensual. I tend to go for more serious fragrances and my passion for pink sugar surprises me because it's very fun and flirty and vanilla-y, which I'm not usually a fan of. :) |
Count me in for Light Blue by D&G, awesome scent.
I tend to change my perfumes after a few months, get a new scent, or just stick with scented lotions and the like, that nice little change for your nose, and those around you constantly lol. Currently I'm in love with Simply Irrestible by Givenchy, so faint and sweet, the perfect complement, and trust me, you'll get it with this perfume! ^_^ |
I've used Dream by the Gap before--very light and crisp.
Guess came out with a new perfume in a pink bottle..It smells really really good..I normally don't use perfume but this one makes it all work at the right times. Gives me an added sway to my step. |
Well, I just got some samples from Perfume Bay of several floral scents...and tried one of sweetpea's suggestions...we'll see how it goes!

I don't wear many scents anymore because of my job. But I used to wear anything Egyptian Musk or White Musk (the body shop) because neither is heavy. I loved body shop's Tobacco Flower but they discontinued it. Now I use scented lotions or bath stuff. Currently, I'm addicted to the body shop's Lavender Soy Milk Bath (the smell hangs with me all day) and Hemp Body Butter. But not together. I lean more towards natural products because I'm allergic to everything and my skin reacts to make so many yummy smelling things a horrible disaster. What I'm looking for is the Starbucks Vanilla Latte with powdered cinnamon smell. I can't find anything even close. All of the vanillas are too sweet or perfumey, coffees are too candy-like, and none of the cinnamons smell like anything except potpourri, red hots or candles. I just want to crawl inside my coffee and take a bath. :D
As a bonus to the Hemp line, my boyfriend says it smells natural and sexy and it makes my skin incredibly soft. The scent doesn't linger too heavy, but when my skin warms up it's amazing. And makes his lips even softer when I wear the lip repair. |
Tresor by Lancome
|
I have fallen in love with a little sample that I inherited from my best friend's grandmother when she passed on. She had quite the collection of perfume samples. It's called Coco by Chanel. No idea if it is even still made. I wear perfume so irregularly, I'm still making my way through the sample. But I wouldn't mind finding a bottle of it sometime.
|
genuinegirly, Coco by Chanel is one of the all-time perfume classics, and you should have no problem finding it easily for the next 50 years anywhere. :)
I can't wear many perfumes, they make me sneeze, but I do have a short list. I tend to prefer oils, too: Chanel #5 Ginger by Origins (great light springtime scent) Lovespell by VS (my current fav, tons of compliments) Gardenia oil (a blend, not just straight-up gardenia) by Glow (fantastic stuff) Lilac oil (not a blend) from Bodyworks Karma by Lush Plus I got a bunch of perfume essenses from Egypt, inc. Egyptian lilac (very different from Western lilac), attar of roses, and a secret mix. I tend to like scents that make me think of...water. Like, carnations or gardenias...tings that have so much water in them that's what you smell. Maybe I should look into this Cool Water one, eh? I love White Shoulders, but it turns into 2-week-old funeral arrangement on me, sadly. :( Edited to add: In researching White Shoulders, I came across this link explaining why the older perfumes don't smell as good today. It boils down to cheaper ingredients. Too bad. http://www.cranemoon.com/history_of_perfumery.htm |
I don't think they make my favorite perfume anymore. At least I haven't been able to find it for several years. I loved Red2 by Giorgio. It had a light scent which was great because it didn't overpower anyone.
Then I started buying body oils. I love them because you just roll them on whenever. My 2 favorites that I used was opium and ylang-ylang. I bought one from Bath and Body works that is horrble. It has a rotten orange smell and is too woody for me. I'm allergic to most floral scents, like Narcissus. I started having asthma attacks when I was in high school. Come to find out it was my perfume. I'm now using various VS lotions and body sprays until I find another perfume that I love. Of course, I haven't been actively searching. |

White Shoulders reminds me of my grandmother. She had a box of White Shoulders powder she would let me use after bathtime when we stayed at her house. It's one of the few pleasant memories I have of her any more. |

I've been through so many scents its ridiculous, claiming for about a week that each one was my new "signature scent".
Some I've used: So Pink-Gap some abercrombie and fitch perfume a lot of bath and body works sprays: cucumber melon peach vanilla and a really really flowery one that i dont remember the name of. curve adidas Aura from American Eagle and now I've really gotten sick of the flowery overpowering scents, mainly because everyone wears them and I want to smell "different". So I've started wearing a lot of oils and natural perfumes. I really love the website, www.aftelier.com it's all really unique and awesome scents, the white tobacco is really nice. And my favorite is amaretto from The Body Shop, everyone always compliments me on it. But I always seem to have a problem with the scent actually staying on me, after a few hours it will go away, its not just me getting used to the smell, I've asked other people and they say it's gone too, does anybody else have this problem? |

Oils don't have alcohol in them, that's why they are less...intrusive, they tend to not smell as strongly, but they last longer. |
So, I went perfume shopping this weekend and I finally settled on one scent that totally stood out from the rest: Hugo Boss Deep Red. Seriously it is divine! I also liked Sensi by Giorgio Armani. I also bought White Musk at the Body Shop which is heavenly.
Thanks for all your input, this really helped me out. |

i think that is true. Perfumes tend to have a stronger fragrance too.
My favourite is Estee Lauder - Beautiful followed by Chanel 19, and Chanel 5 for those romantic evenings! |
