Since this still is the ladies lounge, let's elaborate a bit on our wardrobes

Summer is coming about here in Belgium, and --as i've promised in a different thread-- i've made myself the commitment to dress more "feminin" this year! Meaning, i'll start wearing skirts and dresses and stuff like that...

The problem i'm facing today is SHOES!!!! I don't own thàt many, so i have to be creative and openminded as to what fits on what...

My question for all the other ladies here on board: how many pair of shoes do you own, what are your favorite ones, how many of the ones you have, do you actually wair, and what is more important: how do look or how comfortable they are ?

1. Here in Germany I have about 10 pairs. Back in the US in storage I have 30-40 pairs probably.

2. My favorites are - for basic everyday - a pair of black lace-ups (total basic simple style) with a nicely shaped toebox (roundish, not square) and a nice tall and thick but nice looking heel. A hard heel, so they make noise when I walk. I like that.
They remind me of schoolgirl shoes, sort of, but sexier.

and for summertime - a pair of Esprit sandals with a big 'chunky' rubber heel. Comfy as hell, and sexy too.
(and I'm short, like 154 cm or so...so I <3 heels!)

As far as what I actually wear, I mostly stick to a couple pairs..I usually wear either of the 2 mentioned above...or either of my trainers, when going out and about.
(in the winter, I've got some nice pointy-toed high heel boots too)

Comfort and looks are important to me. but if I had to choose, I'd choose a higher looks:comfort ratio.
(but I still suck at wearing reeeallly tall and too-narrow-heeled shoes. needs more practise)

As far as style goes, personally I hate square toes, and brown shoes (or anything brown for that matter..).

When I'm rich, I'm sure I will invest in some Manolos, Louboutins, Choos, etc. Sexy!

//edit - 2 things on my current wishlist for summer -
1. sexy ankle-strap heels. 2. Sexy heels with ties that wrap up the leg a bit.

man, I have kept all the shoes that still look good and fit since I have been in high school,I have flip flops,high heals,but I only have like 16 great name brand shoes the others are like cheap but they look good. Humm most costly was my LV heeled sandals.
So all together I have to many because I like to match my shoes with my clothes,colors and all are very important to me. My boy friends shoes costs a lot too.
I need a bigger closet to store them all
Some shoes are hand me downs or just ones my mom could not fit into after she bought them.

I've never understood what the deal is with girls and shoes. I hate shopping for shoes and that's why I personally don't owe more than 7 pair of shoes because that's all I need:

2 types of sneakers for my workout/spinning classes
1 pair of every day shoes
1 pair of extremely exclusive shoes for ball/galla lunches
2 pair of sandals. One exclusive pair and one for every-day wearing
1 pair of boots:



my favourite because they match every possible outfit perfectly!

Same here, that's why my question...
I'm a total nerd when it comes to shopping, especially for shoes; i hate it!

I own only six pair of shoes, two of which i cannot even wear (the one because there worn to pieces --boots that i've had for two years and probably worn them every single day!-- and the second pair --also boots-- i can't wear because they hurt like hell!!!!)

Other then these two pair of boots, i own one pair of cute black sporty shoes (which are also becoming totally worn); slippers --which i can only wear inhouse or in my own garden-- a pair of sandals, and one pair of real cute open red shoes (for a more "established" event)

A good friend of mine, she's totally crazy of shoes, she must have almost twenty different pairs, all very beatifull, but monstrously expensive!!! And i just can't get it over my heart to pay so much, just for a pair of shoes...

I'm wearing a pair of strappy heals today. I know I'll regret it by the end of the work day... I'm trying to stretch them out a bit for this summer. I've got to wear them for a wedding and such, and I'd rather work them in than wait and have my feet killing me during a wedding.

I have surprisingly few pairs considering how much I love shoes.
I have a black pair of high top Chuck Taylors and a red pair of low top Chuck Taylors that I wear pretty much every day. For the days I'm going a little dressier I have brown dress shows and some really cute clogs I just got.
For summer I've broken out the sandals. I've got my Birkenstocks that I usually wear and then a bunch of the cheap $2 flip-flops in fun colours.
I used to have a pair of police boots that I wore every day for about 2 years but they're completely worn out and I cant find another pair that I like as well!

I've got a pair of trainers, and a doc marten style low boot for during the cooler months. When the summer comes, I break out 3 pairs of flip flops(reef ) my birkenstocks, and some other leather sandals.

I'm on the end of a hand me down list for a gal friend of my mom who only shops at Nordstrom, so I've got a TON of really nice dressier sandals and slides, but those are more for the dressier days. I dress up maybe 10 times a year

I used to have to dress up at my old job, so that required more dress shoes. Now they sit in the closet getting dusty. I probably own 30-40 pairs, and I wouldn't say I'm a shoe freak.
I always buy shoes at the end of the season when they go on sale because I don't buy funky stuff that will only be in style for a year. I don't buy designer brands either because I just can't justify it to myself. I'd rather spend money on clothes I think people will notice more.

Of the shoes I own, I probably wear about 10 pairs regularly throughout the year. For summer I have the most options, at least 6 pairs are just summer shoes. And I usually go for style and then comfort, but generally I balance that because I know if they aren't comfortable I won't really wear them.

I always wear chunky heels too, because I have weak ankles that I'm always twisting. Stilleto heels would be the death of me!

For me, as far as comfort or looks... most of the time it's comfort. It depends on the situation.

I'm a quasi-shoe slut. I like to have many pairs of shoes, but I've been able to dwindle them down in the mass moves the past few years. in High school I have about 40 some odd pair of shoes... between all the activities I did ... they were almost all well used.

Right now I have maybe 10 pairs... three that are still in Arizona that I probably will either replace on my own or pick up when I go out there. And the others I have here... I've got sandals, flip-flops, tennis shoes, and a couple of nice pairs to wear with decent out fits that I don't wear often.

I mainly just wear sandals and tennis shoes. Though I've really grown to dislike wearing shoes at all... I still have a weird thing for owning a few more than I really need.

Most of the time I just like to slip on something that's comfortable and easy.... so sandals and flip-flops are primarily what I wear.

I need to replace my doc sandals though.... Just too expensive to replace right now. I really want to get a pair of thigh-high doc boots... but that will come in time. If they only had Rocky shows here in Richmond... I'd be set. "sigh"

for the summer i pretty well only wear flip flops. i have really comfy plain black ones and i wear them with everything. which might be lame and tacky, but i'm too lazy to bother trying to match shoes, since you're lucky as hell to get me in a dress at all. i wear them all day in jean and a hoody and then i wear them with a dress at night.

I have four pairs of shoes (chunky heeled shoes, slippers, moccasin-looking ones, and tennis shoes) that I wear more frequently than my other two pairs (black high heels, red mary janes).

Wow I have lots of shoes. Dress shoes, leather loafers, Boots in a couple styles, sandles in the basic colors, mules, slides, tons. Most of them are cheaper. One of my favorite pair are a pair of leather Aldo slides I think they look great and the heal is nice and high. My favorite pair of boots have 3 inch heals, are black, and go up to my knee. I just feel so sexy in those. I also have some black sandles where the strap wraps around the ankle. I think those are my sexiest dress shoes. I have just 15 pair of sandles or so. It would take me too long to count them all. I want to guess that I have around 35 MAYBE 40 pairs. I LOVE SHOES.

I don't really feel all that bad. One of my friends turned her kitchen floor to ceiling cupboard into shelves for all her shoes. The shelves are places just far enough apart to allow room for shoes to sit. Then she has a closet full of boots. I think she has somewhere around 70 or more. I couldn't believe when I first saw her cupboard. WOW. She adores shoes. That's practically all she shops for. lol

Why go for the name brands and kill your purses? Cheaper stylish knockoffs of the name brands are always available at more reasonable prices and most times are better quality and last longer.

I personally find it amusing when I see people bragging about how much they spent on one pair of jeans or shoes. Rubbing their wealth in others faces like it's a big deal? Oh but it's not a big deal. I make excellent money also but I conserve mine for items that are necessities instead of material.

While the flaunting wealthy brag I can rofl because as they bought ONE pair of jeans for $75-$100. I just bought a quality pair of sneaks, two pairs of jeans, three shirts, some panties and socks and still have money left over for lunch.

As for shoes, I have hiking boots, everyday sneaks, dress shoes, couple pairs of sandals all bought at no more than $10 per pair. I never cease getting compliments on my shoes from friends and coworkers!

i have a good 20 pairs of shoes. For summer, I wear any of my 4 pairs of flip flops, 1 pair of everyday brown leather sandals, 2 pairs of srappy sandals (one black, one brown). And of course my tennis shoes for work. I can't let my feet get hot, otherwise i can't sit still.

I also have dressy heels that get saves for special occasions.

I save my boots for winter and fall.

I love shoes

The ones I wear most often: my pink sneakers, a pair of boots with a big chunky heel, and a pair of trainers.

Other favorites are another pair of high heeled boots (the difference being these come up to my knees), a pair of platforms with butterflies on the toe area (don't wear those often though...pretty, but insanely non-practical), and some slip ons with no back (what are they called? clogs? something like that).

I also have at least three other pairs of tennis shoes and a whole lot of dress shoes...but then, I'm a packrat, and hate to throw old shoes out. I think I still have my softball cleats from high school...yeesh.

I'm ashamed to say how many pairs of shoes I have. Frankly, I don't need to be ashamed because I CAN'T say! I have so many! I adore shoes. I am short so I wear mostly heels - only a few pairs of flats. I have at least 15 pairs of boots in all shapes and styles, five pairs of Manolo Blanhnik's, four pairs of Jimmy Choo's (my super-sexy FM shoes), four pairs of sneakers, on and on and on... it's obscene really. I'm somewhere in between Carrie Bradshaw and Imelda Marcos. I would have a whole room devoted to shoes if I possibly could. I would be able to fill it up with what I have now.

I do buy cheap shoes from time to time, but I'm a real sucker for the outrageously expensive. I regularly spend more on shoes than on outfits. Love them, love them, love them...

my favorites are my doc marten boots. my converse high top sneakers (maroon) and these black and white saddle-style shoes.. i also have these really cool sandals tailored from the philippines

I own proabily 25... but you have to keep in mind about 8 of those are boots for riding horses and smell like the barn, so they don't go out in public.

I have a short complex, which is weird since I'm five foot eight, but when your shortest brother is six foot one (tallest six foot seven) you want to be tall.

I *love* sandals, flip flops and slides. I'm currently in love with my two inch heel stiletto between the toe sandals, of which I own in pink and black (each cost only 20 dollars!)

The most I've ever spent on a non riding boot is on my ALDO boots. They're the only designer brand shoes I own. I'd have to say that with a four inch heel they are the most comfortable shoes I own. I can be on my feet for 10 hours straight and not feel a thing. They were definately worth the $150.

I think that I probably own around 30-35 pairs of shoes, but out of those, I think that I swear about only 15 of them. All of the rest are more dressy/strappy heels, that I don't have any occasion to wear them to anymore, and I refuse to get rid of them.

I guess that you could call me a shoe freak to a certain extent, since when you walk into my closet, both the left and the right sides of it are completely lined with shoes, and then they're lined all the way from the back wall, to about 4 feet from the doorway...

That'd be me -- black heeled boots, black heels, sneakers, sandals. that's it.

I have huge feet (size 11) and it's hard to find decent shoes that fit. Plus I really hate shoes. I am sitting at my desk at work, at the client, in socks, my shoes got discarded about an hour after I walked in. Bare feet are just much more comforable than shoes.

I LOVE shoes, I have about 80 pairs. I love sandals with mile-high heels the best. I'm 5'2" so I can't go anywhere without heels. In college I wore chunky heels that were at least 3" high, and since I've been out of college (I'm 25 now), I have more pencil heeled and pointy toed shoes.

My favorite brands are steve madden, carlos santana, bcbg, xoxo, bebe, and Aldo. On the designer end, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Charles David, Franco Sarto, Prada, Manolos, Giuseppe Zanotti, and Caseidei.

I can't afford designer stuff right now, but when I have money, that's all I'm going to buy!!! I could go on forever about shoes!

I only have about 8 pairs of shoes and they are all cheap. I have two pairs of sandals. Two pair of black dress shoes, white dress shoes, and two pair of tennis shoes and mowing shoes. My sister loves shoes and whenever I need any I go to her house and get some!
