Wreck Beach
Ladies, have any of you ever been to a nudist beach before? There's on in Vancouver and i'm toying with going, however i'm a bit hesitant. I don't know if i'd go with someone, or what, is it just like normal... the idea is appealing to me, although i wouldn't go completely nude, i'd got topless for sure though. Hmm, thoughts?

I've not been to a nudist beach. I'd get nude. I have been to parties where almost everyone is walking around nude. It's very liberating. Mostly because you see everyone elses "flaws" and you see that your body is just right for you. When everyone is naked it seems like people are much more accepting of other's bodies and willing to look more than skin deep. Kinda sounds ironic that our culture seeks to look at nudity and people will pay a price for it even but when you got it all around you it seems more superficial. Not saying that seeing people nude can't be a turnon - it definately can. It's just that when you are naked too in a public setting you are more comfortable with your own body.

Nude beaches and nude resorts are honestly no big deal. Use lots and lots of sunscreen -- parts of you that have never seen the sun will get very burnt.
Nude beaches are not all "super hot" looking people with perfect bodies romping about sans clothes. They are normal people, without perfect bodies, there's sags, and cellulite, and wrinkes and gray hair where people shouldnt have hair. It takes about 5 minutes to get used to the fact that you arent wearing clothes, then it's perfectly natural (and I am about as shy as a person can get)

I went to a lake in Germany once and there was a part of it that was nudist. It was full of old people like my grandparents. I don't know if it'll be like that in Vancouver, but I didn't like it.

If you are going to a nude beach to "hook up" and be turned on by someone -- you are better off going to resorts like Hedonism and places like that.
http://www.aanr.com/ is a pretty comprehensive site that explains the experience. Rarely will you have titty gawkers, most resorts will not let single males in - it tends to be couples, families and single women. It's something that everyone should do at least once in their life, it's rather liberating

Been and observed as it was a "surprise" or "joke" from a friend and none of the four women I was with went nude. It was very comfortable and if I had to do it again I would go nude.
I've also been on a woman's retreat where we all swam in the river nude. A body is a body is a body. Great experience -- go for it!

Honestly, at most nude beaches, your perceived "big tummy" wouldn't be noticed by anyone. It's not even close to supermodel beach --
Someone once described a nude beach and nude resorts as a gathering of people that you really don't want to see nude. It's not about turning on your fellow beach goers, or getting turned on by someone else. It's about the freedom of the restrictions of clothes. After about 5 minutes of giggles, you get over it pretty quick, no one cares that you have cellulite on your butt, no one cares that your boobs sag, the guys probably have more hair on their backs than they do on their heads, but they're good people, without a lot of hangups.
