A good day at work

How I initially met this guy is kind of a long story and much of it actually belongs in Tilted Paranoia, not because of him but for whom he works (FBI here in Oklahoma City).

Anyway back in September, he had told me about a job opening a the Federal Courthouse Law Library, the job I'm currently in. I haven't seen him since September.

This morning he walks in the library looking for a book on Luminol, part of a murder case he's on. He sees me and gets all excited that I got the job. He said he had been working in McAlester (about 110 miles away) working on the Terry NIcholls trial (conspirator, Murrah Federal Building bombing, 19 April 1995, just across the street to the north of the Federal Courthouse), and just been sent back to OKC last week.

If he hadn't told me about this job, I wouldn't have gotten the application and resumé in on time, as it was I got it in 25 minutes before it closed. So to thank him, I'm taking him out Friday. Poor guy is so shy when it comes to women it's almost sad. When I asked him, he's face got red (pale like me, no challenge to make it red) and he started stammering. I managed to calm him down enough to get a 'yes' out of him, mostly by letting him know that it was a 'Thank you' and not a 'date'.

Anyways, good days need to be shared, so I am. http://members.cox.net/wd40/lilac1.gif

Most details later, I gotta eat and get back to work.

More info.

His name is Jim, but most of his co-workers call him "Critter". (Why? I don't know. Maybe word-play off of his last name, Crittenden) Rundown from a female co-worker of is: his area is forensics, usually either computer data recovery or chemical analysis, like undercover work and hates the spotlight, FBI since 1993, BS in Chemistry from Oklahoma State University in 1992, turns 35 later this year but looks like mid 20s, 5'9" and probably 150, not particularly athletic but not a skeleton, shy except on the job, mama's boy (picture of her on his desk). She also mentioned that no one knows his "preferences" because no one sees him away from work, like he's either a recluse or in disguise.

This might be a fun mystery to crack.

so.......are both of you single? (sorry I havent been around enuff to notice if you've mentioned a s/o)

I am for now. He's not married, but none of his co-workers know if he has someone else or even if he likes girls. Like I said, this might be a fun mystery to crack.

You've got my curiosity up! With any luck he'll just be a shy "geek." I think geeks are the best. Good luck!
