This really blows. My boyfriend is studying abroad for a semester. He left in october and came back for christmas break. When we went to have sex, the first time was great, but I was begining to feel sore. The morning after it hurt too much and I couldn´t do it. It made me really pissed cuz I hadn´t seen him in so long and I was horny too :( . We did it again 2 days after and he had to go really slow so I wouldn´t scream in pain. I don´t know what to do next time, cuz I´m not going to see him again until march and I don´t want it to be like this again. Does this happen to anyone else? What should i do?

That happened to me....

Went to Virginia to visit my college boyfriend (I had moved back home to NY, doing the long distance thing...) and the first night everything was fine. A bit sore but no big deal... 2nd night we go for it and there was no way in hell. It hurt, a lot. Then I got a wicked horrible cold and there was nothing going on for the rest of my trip.


I think it was just because it had been awhile since I had sex. And we started before I was ready, too quickly and all of that.

Another time after a long layoff I was a bit sore, but luckly the guy I was with knew what the hell he was doing and took it slow and everything. No problems after that.

My advice... make sure you're ready before you start having sex. Lots of foreplay and maybe even some lube. Since you don't see him very often, take some time to get used to things again. Hopefully next time things go better for you!

Yeah, after a long time of not having sex, things start to get all closed up. Teehee. Try lots of lube. Lots of lube...foreplay. And different positions. I swear, last night, my lover and I did it and for example: if you have chair sex [guy on bottom, girl on top] its waaaaaay tight and hurts a tiny bit. But using the same chair, if you get down on your knees in front of it and grip it, then have him push into from behind, it feels hellllaa good.

Yes, it happens, if you allow it. Your final question was "what should I do?" Well, for right now, you have to bear with the pain. But you can plan for your future rendevous. For now, lots of lube, as the ladies have said. Then, do it slow and easy and take your time. Mostly, enjoy what you can and don't obsess about "doing it all right now." You may be putting too much pressure on yourself to perform which may subconsciously cause anxiety and thus pain. Relax and have fun -- do ONLY what feels good.

Sex should never be painful, especially with lots of lube. I would suggest you talk to your gynecologist and tell them the symptoms you experience.

Painful sex can be the result of many things including endometriosis, ovarian cysts, or the beginnings of a yeast infection. Better to be safe than sorry, I say!
