I was just reading a thread in tilted sexuality about a man unsure if his girlfriend had really had an orgasm or not. He said that she had never masturbated before. I have met a few women who have said that they have never masturbated. Do you think that there are women who dont masturbate or do you think they are just embarrassed about it and don't admit it. What are your thoughts?

It's hard for me to believe that there is someone out there who has never masturbated. I suppose it's possible, but I dunno. I would guess that the women you speak of are simply too embarrassed to admit it. Even if it's only been once, I bet they have.

I'm a strong proponent of masturbation. I think it's natural and healthy and also something I'm not willing to go without. ;)

i think in the past there had been a stigma attached to women who masturbate, or women who orgasm for that matter (damnfreud!) and thus women may have been ashamed of their sexuality and pleasure, and won't admit to it, or don't in fact masturbate at all because they don't know how their bodies work.

i really enjoy masturbating, and have been regularly masturbating for about seven years. at first i thought i was doing something terrible, but now i have accepted it as something that i enjoy, that is beautiful and natural, and I no longer feel shameful. unfortunately i'm currently living in a dorm, and have found it quite difficult to get private alone time with myself! but when i do, it's that much more intense.

thing is i'd rather have sex with a man too, but sometimes that's just not possible. and so when i'm home alone and bored or lonely or happy or sad.....you get the picture. i tried it once and didn't really know what i was doing when i was really young, and so i didn't really pick it up then because i didn't see the point. but the day i learned to make myself orgasm, that ladies and gents was a fine day. been masturbating ever since.

I would still be in the "I have never masturbated" catagory but my bf has slowly opened me up to a whole new wonderful world. I made it to age 18 or 19 before I ever tried... I honestly just wasn't interested in it. I rarely do now, either... usually as stress relief of some kind. just not my thing. mostly 'cuz I suck at it. I can't get my mindset relaxed, so i can't cum. :/

Mutual masturbation has always been a favorite of mine... I'm one of those lucky lucky lucky (NOT) women who can't get off from sex... in order for me to be able to cum, I have to masturbate. No real chance of it otherwise.

I think that there are a lot that have tried it, but are just too embarrassed to say that they have. I don't think it's a big deal if you have or not. People don't make a big deal out of men doing it, so I don't think that people should make a big deal out of women trying.
