Sore breasts
I was just setting here wondering if any of you ever get really sore breats for no reason at all? Or no reason I can think of anyway. Ok here's the situation, for the past several days my breasts have been incredibly sore and I'm not sure why. The nipple area seems to be the worst, and underneath. The tops don't seem to be hurting as much. Like tonight for example, I was in the shower and when the water from the shower would hit my nipple, it felt like I had poked it with a small sewing needle or something. Really weird. This is killing my husband as well, he's a boob person and feels the need to squeeze mine everytime he's near me, (and he really is gentle about it) but I have to tell him to stop because it just hurts. This happened one time before like a month and a half ago and lasted about a week and it's doing it again so I was just wondering if it's just one of those things that just happen or if its just me. Thanks for any advice you might have.

I got terribly sore when I was pregnant. I have a lots of trouble with my hormones fluctuating and get sore or at least very sensitive often. If you aren't pregnant you could see you Dr about it. Mine gives me hormone therapy for my headaches primarily but it also works as Birth Control and helps with many of my other problems. She's put me on a 3 month cycle instead of the usual natural 1 month cycle. I love it. Not dealing with the headaches and other complaints of PMS is wonderful.

I get this occasionally, and it seems to be partly related to hormones and partly related to muscle strain - for example, if I've been lifting weights, or if I went without wearing a bra for a few days. However, in at least one case (when I was like 17) it was due to a small, fibrous (benign) tumor that had to be removed. I'd say do regular breast self-exams, keep an eye on when it happens and what it seems to be related to, and go to the doctor if it gets worrisome. (Though it seems like you're already pretty worried about it.)

I get breast soreness from a lot of nipple stimulation sometimes. Sometimes it's pms, exercise, or just random. I have huge boobs, so the chances of my having sore boobies goes up :P

My tits usually get sore as part of PMS, but sometimes the nipples hurt from too much stimulation. I also sometimes get this really really terrible THO (titty hard on... i think it's a regional thing) where i feel like my nipples are gonna pop and if anything touches them i want to scream. And it takes a long time to go away, like i have to defrost them or something. Anyone know what i'm talking about?

Yeah, mine get sore depending on horomones, temperature...or like Friday when my boyfriend rolled over on my right nipple. (OWW!)

Just wanted to say thanks ladies, for everything. I was a little worried about it just because Im usually a private person and don't discuss things like this with people. I don't know why, I'm just funny like that. I keep things to myslef, but still I hadn't heard my sisters or girlfriends mention this before other than when they were pregnant, and since I know Im not pregnant I couldn't figure out why they were so sore. Thankfully the pain is gone now. The last time this happened was a few days before my period so maybe there is a connection there. I don't have a period every month, (but my doctor said as long as I don't go over 3 months without having a period im ok,) so since I don't have one every month maybe thats why I don't experience this more often. But now that I know that this is a common thing that happens for different reasons I think Im ok about it. Thanks again

Apache,
Do you find that the your breasts feel really hot and slightly firmer than normal because i had that and the doctor told me that it was mastalga (sounds like nostalga) He prescribed me these evening primrose tablets to take to level out the hormones. Dont know if thats any help. |

Mine tend to get sore right before and right after my period. However, during high stress times, they sometimes get sore then too. I think its quite normal for a little soreness to creep in every once a while.

My breasts are invariably sore the couple of weeks before my period each month. It's a fairly common occurance. It tends to be worse when I don't have a period for a while. So you're not a freak =*)
One thing that your SO might be interested in... if you can muster enough guts to try it. I have found that a nice massage softens my sore breasts and makes the pain go completely away. Problem solved. Just make sure he doesn't play with the nipples so much as massage the breast as a whole. Good luck! |

If I were you I think I would go to the doctor just for my own peace of mind!!
That being said mine do get kind of tender before my period every month, both nothing like your talking about. mine are just a general heaviness, not any specific area. |

I have small breast,I would say a medium B. about a month ago they were very swollen to the size of a good solid C. they were so sore it was aweful. I dont know if it was a hormonal thing or just growing pains. they seem to be not as swollen but still getting bigger. they usually increase in sensitivty when I get close to my period and right after. or on really cold days my nipples ache, and I can feel the scar tissue where I had them pierced. I have heard from other girls that the soreness is usually associated with PMS. if your concerned thought the best thing to do is get checked. Even at a young age you can be at risk, like lurkette shared...I to have the beginings of fibriss tissue that is a generally a precurser to cancer and Im only twenty. blah.
a nice warm soak and gentle massage helps to relieve some of the pain. kate |
