Short or Tall?!?!?!

Short or tall?!?! First off let me give you my information!

I am very short (asian thing;) ) and look very young due to my shortness! Now im talking about being voted "still mistaken as a freshman" in your high school yearbook! Now i think this can be an advatage when i get older! What do you think are the advantages of being short/tall, and which do you prefer?

I am tall (5'9") and I have NEVER had a problem with guys.

I love being my height. My boyfriend is right around 6' and we match up perfect in every aspect.;)

The only pain in the ass is finding clothes that fit like I want them to. Seems like most things are made for shorter women. It is funny to me that men have a "big and tall" store but all women are expected to be 5'6" and shorter.

JadziaDax 08-04-2003 05:52 AM

Hey, don't call me short...

I'm the perfect height for someone 5'3". But if I was supposed to be 5'6", then I'd come up short ;)

koli70 08-04-2003 06:01 AM

:) I'm 5'6 and perfectly happy with it. Not too tall and not too short

Minx 08-04-2003 08:09 AM

I absolutely fit into the short category at 5 feet! Sigh....5'3"....I wish! I would love a few extra inches as it seems so tough to find clothes that fit well....pants especially are always too long (go figure). I don't mind being really short (like I have an option anyways!!!) and it has never ever been a problem as far as men go. I realize a lot of guys like tall women but for me, I enjoy the feeling of resting my head against a nice strong chest! ;)

wonderelk 08-04-2003 08:11 AM

I am 5'10 and I love it. I have to agree with Nikki about the clothes thing though. Finding long sleeved clothing with sleeves actually long enough is so difficult.

But I do feel short sometimes because I live with 5 guys and 4 of them are over 6 ft.

I'm with hotchocolate on this, but it all works out for me because I can wear kickass shoes to make up for being "vertically challenged" (I also have a sort of a shoe fetish). Besides, great things come in small packages. :)

Haha! i Know what you mean by the shoes! I have soooo many, and most of them are at least 4 inches tall!

StormBerlin 08-04-2003 08:46 PM

I am 5'5 and I wouldn't mind being a couple of inches taller. My boyfriend is 6'2, so it would work out better.

Johny Carson time: How short are you?
Are you short and small or short and full figured?

anti fishstick 08-05-2003 12:51 AM

i'm short.. 5'2. but i don't think height has anything to do with how young/old you look. some people think i look like im still in highschool and some people see me and definately think i'm a college student. so..go figure.

i've gotten anywhere from 17-23 about my age and i'm 20. hehe.

and i like being short because i lovee tall guys and having to tip-toe to kiss them. or even step on their shoes and tip-toe. a great feeling. i know a lot of guys that prefer short, petite girls. yay.

Janie 08-05-2003 10:27 AM

I'm also 5'2" and I couldn't wish to be any other size in the world. I love the feeling of being surrounded by big, strong guys and, given my size, almost every guy is big and strong next to me. It makes me feel fragile and protected, a big turn on! ;)

SiN 08-05-2003 12:45 PM

short (152.4 cm) and petite here ;)

i do wish i was a bit taller sometimes, would love to have long legs...

but other than that, i dunno i guess i've gotten used to it.

oh, and my bf's very tall, somewhere over 6 feet.

works out just fine, tho ;)

Plummie 08-06-2003 08:33 AM

I'm 5'6" - pretty average.

I don't think I'd like to be really tall, like some supermodels are over 6' but I think it would be weird to tower over men. :p

yoshi 08-06-2003 02:27 PM

I'm 5'2". Personally, it I were two or three inches taller then I wouldn't have to worry about losing weight right now:) I'm the shortest of all of my friends, but I don't see myself being that short.

darksparkles 08-06-2003 06:24 PM

i'm 5'3 and i think its a good height. i'm not the lightest girl in the world (not the heaviest either) and my height helps me feel petite... plus i can wear whatever height of shoe i want and not look particurally tall at all.

TanteMegs 08-06-2003 07:13 PM

Well, I have to say, that I wish I was just a few inches shorter. I am between 6' and 6'1" and it's hard to find clothes that are not only long enough, but cute enough for someone my age. For the longest time, I bought jeans in the men's section at wal-mart to get decent fitting jeans.
Now for the guys thing, I gradutated with only 2 other people taller than me and they were guys, and any other tall guy I have ever met, had a short girlfriend. Some of the guys didn't even look my way in any other interest other than friendship.
Oh well, their loss I guess.

wonderelk 08-06-2003 08:27 PM

Megs, it's too bad you don't live near me. All of my over 6' roommates complain that they can never find tall women. They would do anything to meet a girl over 6 feet.

TanteMegs 08-07-2003 12:42 PM

Wonder, where is it that you live? Maybe my older sister, who is 6'2", and I will like to take a mini road trip :-).

LittleOralAnnie 08-07-2003 05:48 PM

I'm 5'8" and I'm satisfied. Knowing I'm not a towering menace or a shrimp is good for the confidence. Most guys fit nicely who are anywhere from 5'10" up to 6'2" :D

SabrinaFair 08-07-2003 06:24 PM

5'8", but I seem taller because of my posture, a throwback to my early days in the saddlebred circuit. I wear heels most of the time, I've decided I don't care if I'm taller than my date....not that I have many to begin with. :-P

wonderelk 08-07-2003 08:17 PM

Megs,

Eugene, Oregon

TanteMegs 08-10-2003 08:37 PM

That's a bit of a drive from Oklahoma :)

wonderelk 08-10-2003 09:59 PM

Yeah, it is. When I told one of my roomies about your comment of a road trip he was all like SWEET!!!!!!

Too bad it is a long drive.

TanteMegs 08-11-2003 08:36 AM

lol. I wish I could, but I'm going back to college to get a degree in Veterinary Technology, so I'll be a wee bit busy. But that doesn't mean we can talk via the interent. :)

bernadette 08-11-2003 01:36 PM

i'm 5'7"
that's mostly ok. i can reach most things i need to. i wouldn't mind be a bit taller, but no big complaints.

my hubby is 6' even. so he can reach a bit higher before we need to grab a chair ;)

txgirl 08-11-2003 02:03 PM

I'm 5'5 and happy with my height...but some people are more self concious than others and that's cool....been there, done that....

Apache 08-14-2003 11:30 AM

I'm only 5'2 and I like it. Not sure why but I just enjoy being small. My husband is 6'3 and I really enjoy the feeling when I'm in his arms, I feel so protected and safe there.

mew 08-16-2003 03:34 PM

Hey Im 5'2 too and it kinda sucks at times, but whatever, you get to wear younger kids clothes, cheap. PPl mistake me for being 14 when im in my mid 20's. When Im 60 itll be all for the best. Woohoo..Cougar!MErrow~!LOL JK!!!

Cedar 08-17-2003 07:30 PM

The way I see it, height doesn't matter so much. My feet go all the way to the ground, so I've got the important part covered ;) Actually, I was always the tallest kid in my class until sixth grade. My doctor was convinced that I'd be taller than my mom, who is 5'9". In sixth grade, I stopped at 5'3" and have been there ever since. I watched the rest of the kids in my class pass me by. In grad school, however, I grew an inch. Don't ask me how.

LOL, exact same situation as i8 and myself, except I tend to slouch a bit, so he is always reiminding me stand up straight and proud. grin.

Peutetre 08-19-2003 06:39 PM

blah.. i'm in the short category as well 5'3 is about the best i can do.. always thought i would be 6 feet tall.. heh..

Mel 08-20-2003 08:16 PM

I would prefer to be medium height then I would have the advantages of both :p

INNOCENT SPEED 08-22-2003 08:11 AM

i'm 5'8" and i like it . But i don't think being short has anything to do with how young you look, because i was asked for ID at the liquer store when i was 27 yrs.

shannon 08-22-2003 10:26 AM

I'd say JadziaDax got it just right way up there somewhere. I'm the perfect hieght for someone 5'3". i mean what are you gonna do about it anyways? it's about the same as every other physical characteristic i have; half the time i love it and half the time i hate it and the rest of the time i just don't think about it. ;)

shortie1_2005 08-31-2004 11:25 AM

lol im 5'0 (thanks to my short asian family :p ) and my boyfriend is 6'2...it's frustrating sometimes but also kinda fun lol...hes starting to slouch now since he has to bend over so much... poor snookums..

isis 08-31-2004 02:59 PM

I'm 5'10. Being tall is nice, but the constant exclamations of "OH MY GOD! YOU ARE SOOO TALL!" sort of get annoying after awhile. I don't think I'm that much taller than too many people. There is a pretty good range it seems.

maleficent 08-31-2004 03:15 PM

5'9, and always wanted to be a little taller -- 5'9" just seemed so average.

Though the more I travel, the more I'd kill to be 4'2" just to get leg room on the planes.

Redgirl 09-02-2004 10:33 AM

Was this thread really revived from exactly a year ago? Freaky...
I'm 5'5" and always wanted to be taller. Primal is almost 6'6" and we make a very strange looking couple. My mom calls us Mutt and Jeff.
I think I posted a pic in the wedding section...
Had to search for it.
